We stayed here towards the end of April 2012 for 3 nights. The hotel is well placed being only 3 blocks from the sea, and in towards the centre of Copacabana so you can wander in both directions. The only other real positive is that the breakfast is ok.
Unfortunately the hotel does look tired and from the seventies.
The room: The room feels dated but it does have a flat screen tv. The air-conditioning is pretty loud and certainly disturbed our sleep, but you need it due to the heat. The road is too noisy to be able to open the windows. The bed was comfortable enough.
The bathroom: The toilet wasn't securely attatched to the wall and the grate in the floor of the shower was loose. Not ideal.
The breakfast was ok but the lady didn't bother saying hello in the mornings, she was just there to top stuff up. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it.
The computer had internet and this was useful.
THe biggest downer for us were the staff, outside on one man who was helpful and made an effort, everyone else just treated us as an inconvienence on their day. This made basic things such as booking restraunts and getting boarding cards very difficult.
Oh well. Made the next hotel seem even better.More
