In town for business and staying here for a number of nights. This JW Marriott is a very nice hotel and I have been going back and forth on whether or not it is deserving of 5 stars. There are several characteristics that are deserving of a 5 star rating, but there are a few things I have seen or experienced that could use improvement. For me, there is one aspect about the hotel that is undoubtedly deserving of 5 stars, the restaurant service. Specifically, the services provided by Vagner and his assistant, Arthur. When I ponder about the services I have experienced over the years staying at some of the nicest hotels and dining at some of the most recognized restaurants, I firmly believe that Vagner and Arthur would be amongst the greatest. After dining with them a few times, it is apparent that service is their passion and they have worked meticulously on their craft. They welcome you by name; remember your drink orders from previous visits and have those drinks waiting at your table; retrieve your made-to-order food so you can peruse the other foods or wait comfortably at your table; refill your drinks when you leave the table so you have fresh juices/drinks when you return; have the biggest smiles and kindest hearts; and explain with great detail the items you are unfamiliar with so that you can make informed decisions. Vagner and Arthur have created an experience that allow you to escape the reality around you and feel like a King even for just a moment in time.

It is the services, kindness, and professionalism of Vagner and Arthur that have tipped the needle, for me, to a 5 star experience. When I think about where to stay on my next trip to Rio, it will be Vagner that I most remember from this trip.

If you are thinking of staying at Copacabana then the JW Marriott is the place.

The rooms are spacious,the location is in the centre of the prmanade.

If you are there on a Saturday, then consider watching the Samba show. You can choose of you want the show with or without dinner

Upscale hotel at the heart of the famous Copacabana Beach. Warm and professional staff treats you very well and helps to make your stay pleasant. Great breakfast is served at the restaurant on the 2nd floor. The executive lounge on the 9th floor overlooks the beach and features beer and wines among other warm food and deserts in the evenings. Treated very well here and look forward to returning.

This is one of the best hotels I stay in my life. The staff is the best specially Arthur and Vagner they took care of me every time I when to eat breakfast . Also Juliana Fonseca was very helpful with everything. Overall the hotel is great the staff is one of the best I seen and I will come back for sure.

Hotel personell were very helpfull and happy to take care of you. The Bartenders Alberto and Yousef were extremely friendly and helpful they both gave us excellent restaurants, and directions to various places we wanted to go. The hotel should be proud to have such great employees. As a business traveler our needs are different than tourist and its great to have a place were they can provide information along with satisfying our particular needs.
