Absolutely amazing tour with Paraty Explorer. We did no the 4 hour Kayak tour in the morning, then the company arranged the afternoon rainforest tour. Our guide Teresa was fantastic! She took us to an amazing waterfall restaurant with the best fish in Brazil!!! Then a slide down the waterfall, which she filmed on our phones. After we did a 1 hour distillery tour of local Cachaca, where we must have had 10 different samples of all the flavours. Finished with a sample of fine cheeses, and Teresa giving us a brilliant lesson about Brazilan history. Great company, booked and accommodated us the night before!!!

Excellent day trip with lovely restaurant/bar next door. Bring a camera! The falls are beautiful, and easy to get to by bus from Paraty.

This waterfall consists of a huge rock where you can slide down sitting or lying down, a fun experience for adults and kids (although I wouldn't recommend it for small children). It's very easy to access, only a couple of minutes walking from the road connecting Paraty and Cunha. Definitely worth a visit!

I went there on a jeep tour. It might be possible to get there yourself, but the person at the tour agency said it's a 7km bicycle ride uphill. In the jeep I noticed the route was muddy, soggy, and uneven. Porbably best to go with a guide.

The rock/water slide down Toboga falls was the highlight of my trip to Paraty. It looks intimidating initially but there are locals there to give you a slight push (or pull in this case) down the rock. Becareful as there are some rocks at the end of the slide some distance away. You won't hit them if you sit the way down, but if you stand and surf and leap at the end, you MIGHT hit them.

By car its about 25min away from paraty. If you park directly in the town they want you to pay for parking. we just drove a bit further away and walked 8min.
Once in the town its about a 5min walk to the waterfall and then you can see the beautiful natural waterslide. walk up and have a look.
There are many people there so you can watch some sliding down and then its your turn. When we were there some locals gave you some advice (like protect your head, make yourself wet before) and then they grab your arms and give you a push and you sliiiiiiide. Its fun!! Once you are done with the first run, i bet you want to do it again and walk up again.
When i arrived i wasnt sure i want to slide, but then i couldnt stop :)
The people supporting you up there are happy about a tip, so bring some cash. If you want to see those people in action look for paraty stone surfing - its unbelievable!
