Very often this place is packed with tourist but it is fun! Beautiful waterfalls and nature slides. Takes a bit of bravery, but worth the fun! A small walk up the hill brings you to more pools and waterfalls and a yummy stop for pastels and drinks . You can even continue further back to less popular waterfalls . Very beautiful nature!

If you have a day to kill in Paraty add this to your list. It's only a 20-25 minute bus ride from the town bus station. Just jump on a bus that is going to Penha. It will cost you around R$3,50. Then get off at Toboga Falls. If you're not sure just ask a local or remember after about 20 minutes in to your trip you'll cross a wooden bridge and the take a winding right hand turn up a hill and you're there. If you're not sure about the safety factor it's all good. They're are a couple of locals that help people slide and they have a tip box set up at the top and bottom if you feel generous. These guys put on a good show. There's heaps of places to sit around and have a picnic or beer. When you're ready to leave if you go back to the bus stop and see a white van come along going to Paraty you can jump on this for only R$3,00 instead of waiting for the bigger bus. I think between 1:30pm to 3:30pm there are no bigger buses on the white mini van type.

This place is just 8 km away from Paraty located at the Paraty-Cunha road. In the spot you will find a huge natural slide, another fall named "poço do Tarzan" where people jump from a 15 feet high rock to the river. You can go just to visit or spend a day there.
Don't forget to visit "Engenho D'Ouro" just across the road. There's a guided tour where you can see the process of cachaça making and taste the premium brand cachaça and liquors.

Hidden gem worth visiting. We did this as part of a tour and loved it. Very pretty and our tour guide jumped right it! Take a towel if you plan to do so!

It was raining a lot this holiday in Paraty. Even so we did not get discouraged and went to meet the famous toboggan waterfall! The place is wonderful and had few people. Sliding there is very easy even for those who do not know how to swim, because in the end there is sand and it is not deep even for the low. There was a young man at the helm and he humbly asked for tips. His work is very important for the safety and fun of everyone!
