I would probobly never go back there again. The server was rude and didn't have much patience. Bad experience in a City with a lot of great eating alternatives
So, while it does not have the cool ambience of La Mafia, for very casual dining, it's okay. We decided to have the picanha. Now you need to appreciate that we are from Australia, we have high quality meat in abundance cooked to perfection for whatever that means for you.
So, the pichanha is rump and it was nicely cooked - not that they asked how we wanted it cooked - so it came medium-well in our world. Our vegetarian daughter was reasonably happy with the vegetable soup and the wine selection was such that we had a wonderful Chilean Cab Sav. The bread basket was put together 5 days ago, but we did not come for the bread.
We went there for lunch. We were amazed at how clean everything was. From the salt shaker to the silverware. Everything was sparkling clean. We ordered the picanha na pedra. The meat was very tender and tasty. Great place for a fast lunch.
We came walking by here and thought it would be a nice place to rest and have some beer. The place is fine and the picanha seems to be a speciality in some way, because nearly everyone ordered it except us. What made our stay so unpleasant was the story of our pizza. We ordered two pizza, one of it was the vegetarian, the other was called "Tropical" and had tuna on it.
The service brought us one pizza called "Italian" (what was the complete opposite to the vegetarian, because it had lots of ham and bacon on it) . My tuna pizza was also the wrong one, because they have two kinds in the menu and although the waiter asked twice he brought the wrong one.
We then ordered a third pizza - because we didn't liked to eat the wrong Italian one. Until now all of this can happen, and we still smiled to that failures. The third pizza came correctly and quickly.
The real disappointment was the bill: still smiling the waiter wanted to have paid the third pizza, money for the doggy bag to carry the rest home, additional money for the music and last but not least he added 10% for his own bad service manually written on the bill. No "sorry", no offer of discount in any way, no Caipirinha on the house, whatever....
I don't know why I paid this unbelievable bill... FOR ME THE WAITER HAD ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA OF THE MAIN BASICS FACTS OF HIS WORK.
Never again Jardim da cerveja!!!!!
