I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The staff is very attentive and warm. I loved the surroundings and everything is closer to it. We can see it's more a business/leisure hotel. Looking forward to stay one more time.

I went to this hotel for a tourist fair in Fortaleza and it was the worst experience in my life! The hotel is maximum a 3 star, the room received the first night was dirty with hairs in the bathroom! The people at the reception unfriendly and very inheducated. Breakfast poor, the electronic key did'nt work, they forgot for two days to make upthe room! Also the place is in the middle of nothing.... After 6 pm you cannot go outside...like a prison... Never again there

Dear Customer,
We thank you very much for having taken the time to write your comments about your recent stay at the Vila Gale Fortaleza.
The hotel entire team works very hard day after day to exceed our guest's expectations. Unfortunately some time we do not manage to provide the services that our guests wait for.
You may be assured that we have not overseen your comments and we will take measures so that incidents like the ones you commented do not happen again.
We sincerely hope that you will give us another opportunity to visit any of our hotels either in Brasil or Portugal

This is a horrid hotel in the middle of nowhere. The beach is pleasant enough, though it is highly recommended that you do not go out walking at night ... it is very unsafe. The hotel looks like a giant Disney resort from the 70's, a throwback that has seen better days. It needs major remodeling and updating. The breakfast room is a hot mess. The hotel staff is pleasant and very attentive. Avoid.

Room Tip: Rooms are big, nothing special.

The hotel is located at the Praia do Futuro beach. On the beach is a beach bar with umbrellas and sunbeds which belongs to the hotel. The beach is amazingly nice and police checks that nothing bad happens there.

This hotel, which is around 25 minutes away from the airport is clean, the rooms are basic (not special, not really big, sadly the walls are quite thin), the staff are friendly and most of them speak English. It's a 5 star hotel, but somehow I would not say it has 5 stars...

You can use free internet in the lobby. If you want to have wifi in your room, you have to pay extra.

The breakfast buffet is extremely good. There was even sparkling wine and you could refill your glass as often as you wanted. Fresh omelets with your own chosen ingredients were also made every morning in front of your eyes.

The food in the hotel restaurants/ bars is not awesome but everybody can always find something.

The city center (Beira Mar), where you can find a really nice beach promenade, nice restaurants and a lovely night market is around 15 minutes by taxi away. There is a taxi stand just in front of the hotel. Beira Mar is safe, even at night and you can freely walk around without having fear. However I wouldn't recommend to walk around the hotel. Always take straight a taxi and go to Beira Mar or to the area of Mercado Central (only on day time), because there are not so save places like Favelas on the way. Mercado Central is a big shopping mall, where you can get the same things as on the night market. Also outside of this place they sell a lot of bikinis, bags and dresses. I wouldn't recommend to be at the Mercado Central area when it gets dark, because Marcado Central will be closed and the area consists of a lot of narrow streets, so better be there at daytime. The beach in front of the hotel should also not be visited after it gets dark, but during daytime, it is no problem at all :-)

Before we flew to Brazil we were warned about so many things and read in the travel books about so worrying things, but after all we REALLY felt save. The only thing you should keep in mind is that you don't go to the beach at night and that you take a taxi to the city center and your holiday will be safe :-)

One more thing is that in Fortaleza nobody really speaks English, but with a little Spanish mixed with English and hands gestures, you can for example negotiate prices on the markets :-)

That was our second time there. Situated in Praia do Futuro, for me the best beach in Fortaleza, and around 15min from the city center.
It's a big hotel with swimming pool and a bar/restaurant on beach sand. Nice attendants, cleaned bedrooms, comfortable beds.
Breakfast is very good, specially the "tapioca com queijo coalho", this one is awesome.
They also have dinner option in a buffet system, which can be a great option for kids after a exhaustive day on the beach. Food is not awesome but everybody can always find something that treats.
The hotel offers interconnected rooms at good deal and its possible to arrange an extra bed in one bedroom, so that's is perfect for big families, as mine (we are 5).

Room Tip: Try "tapioca com queijo coalho" at breakfast.
