The hotel is very intimate and has a lot of charm. Beautiful rooms (they call them houses) and gardens, with a very nice pool.

Restaurant was also very good, but with no daily specials and with very high prices. Nice bar service.

Service was overall very good and warm during our stay. All hotel areas were very clean, including beach bar.

Our house (Quintal) is one of the smallest, but is still very spacious and well decorated. Layout was also very good. Great bed! Strong a/c. Very rustic finishings, but we understand that is the hotel spirit. The main negative point of the room was the lack of any noise cancelation windows, such as simple window glass... Yes, the windows have no glass and they are never fully closed. Because of that the room was VERY noisy! Kids playing at pool area (just in front of our house) and breakfast preparation were very annoying! Its a simple investment that would not change the hotel charm... Also, it was raining and very windy and the noise inside the room was scary... We can imagine how noisy are the houses facing the Quadrado (Trancoso main square)... Very rustic hotels, such as the Six Senses in Yao Noi, Thailand, have noise cancelation windows and they can be fully opened.

Beach bar is amazing! Best in south Trancoso. Great separate spot for guests with reserved seats. They could consider adding roof / shade to all seats as some of the reserved seats didn’t have any shade.

Another thing they should consider is adding the airport transfer into the room rate. The main airport is 1h30’ driving and a ‘complimentary’ transfer would be a nice gesture - we know its cost would be included in the room daily rate, but planning the transfer by our own may be a painful experience... and the hotel charged price for the transfer is too high assuming market prices.

Our overall experience was very good and would love to come back to try other of their charming houses. However, based on the charged rate we would expect better privacy and calmer rooms. Important to note we were very happy with staff, service and overall structure.

This place is just awesome. From the very cool owners carlos and Luigia, the huge and yet very private houses you stay in to the little tame monkeys that come down from the trees, this place is just the best tranquil haven ever.
Trancoso is also really great and every single restaurant in the quadrada is really fab. Our house even has its own heated pool that gets to bath temperature.
This place is worth a trip around the world for ... get in a plane NOW !!

In all over the world, the best hotels are a combination between efficiency(90%) and cosiness(10%).
The Uxua proved that this combination is not the best one. There we find warmth and efficiency in the same proportion and I have no doubts that is the best combination by far.
What we got there during this past week, we have not found in any other hotel in the world. There is not any other team like that anywhere.Allow Carlos, Ligia, Camila, Tamara,Bruno e Bruno, Warley, Veronica, Fernando & Cia to take care of you and be in Heaven
DO NOT MISS IT

Uxua is a truly stunning property that manages to provide a luxury experience in a casual and relaxed way.

We stayed in one of the casas on the Quadrado, which I highly recommend. The Quadrado is magical day and night, and having a window onto it was surreal. We stayed in the blue Seu Irenio and loved every detail - from the spacious and comfortable sitting room, to the lovely bedroom to the tranquil outdoor bath and pool! Every detail is carefully thought out and it shows.

The service is highly personal and the staff is warm and helpful. From arranging trips to nearby Espelho, to a cooking class, to airport transportation, every interaction was as if it was among friends.

The food at the restaurant is the best on the Quadrado and the beach bar actually served my favorite food and drink of the whole trip (the Trancoso mule and the tapioca cheese cubes)!

I could not have loved my stay more and wish I could have stayed forever!!!!
