My son (14) and I stayed here for a week-long DC sightseeing vacation. One of our goals was to not rent a car and try using the Metro. This was probably the best-priced option within walking distance of a big Metro station. You were about 400yards or so from the Metro but had a great safe walk on a walled bike path right to the station. So never had to worry about car traffic. The hotel is older to be sure, but the beds were comfortable, the room was cleaned, and the free breakfast had enough options so we never felt we needed to buy breakfast out. The Ac worked well, TV was good no problems whatsoever. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I particularly appreciated that we had a late evening flight on our final day and they held our bags in a cleaning closet after check out, which gave us a great extra last day for more siteseetign without dragging our luggage around....VERY much appreciated.

This is a older hotel but well maintanience they have 3 floor but no elevator. The room is clean and comfy with all basic need. Breakfast serve eggs and sausage which is a surprise but it's very small with around 4 table. They have pancakes machine but it need to refill the batter often. Also fruits, yoghurt, cereal, and bakery is serve. A gas stations beside with a convenient store is convenient to traveler. Lincoln memorial is around 25 mins away. Our room near back door but the door can not be open by key card. You have to ring it and wait for staff to open for you which they don't open every time you ring it. Overall a nice pleasant stay will come again.

Thank you for letting us know of your challenges and I apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We try to keep back door locked for the safety of our guests. Furthermore being a small economy hotel only one front desk works in the evening, and yes sometime it delays the entry from back door if desk clerk is busy with other guests. We try to exceed the breakfast recommendations of our franchise, as such it is very popular I apologize that your back door experience did not meet your expectations but I am happy to hear that you were impressed with both our housekeeping and breakfast. We hope to see you back on your next visit to Arlington.

Good location, close to metro. Quiet area. Yet nice restaurants and a7eleven next door. Lodge itself has friendly staff. Building clean and efficient : all you need (for a simple but good stay) is available. Would I go back ? YES I would.

So we selected this hotel because of its price and its location next to a metro station. The hotel room was contemporary, very clean and well-appointed, the room was spacious with large flat screen tv, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, alarm clock and charging bays for electronic devices. The staff were very friendly. A continental breakfast is also served every morning, which considering the price of the room is very generous. Another upside is that there is a Metro station in the area. The only downside is - it is a bit of a walk (about a quarter mile). Not too bad as long as it isn't raining. The Metro gets you to and from the hotel and the airport and major spots in DC without a problem and very cheaply. There are also a number of good restaurants and convenience stores only minutes walking time from the hotel. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in the area and would definitely recommend this hotel to the budget-conscious traveler who wants a contemporary clean room. Thank you Econo Lodge Metro!

The Econolodge Metro is an older hotel, but very well kept. There are only three levels to this smaller hotel and the bottom level is basically a walk-out basement. We were on the top floor. The hotel and the area are both very quiet, even though it is on a busy street (west side of hotel). The Metro station is an easy ten minute walk away (to the east). There is a bike path to the station, but we walked on the street to the south of the path. The bike path was busy with bikes and the bikers probably don't want to dodge tourists. The homes between the hotel and the station are small, nice, and well-kept. I am a woman and traveled with my daughters, 16 and 11. I never felt unsafe in the hotel or the area. The hotel staff were all friendly and professional. The breakfast had good selection and was decent for a free breakfast. We stayed 5 nights and have zero complaints about any of it!

Room Tip: Try to avoid bottom level. This is where the breakfast room is, housekeeping, and laundry room.
