“Don't see what the hype's about”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

Live in Clarendon, and have tried it twice now. The pizza is unimpressive. I get that it's "new haven" style, but it's a lousy rendition. The service is unreliable, and the pizza is not memorable. It leaves much to be desired.

For an amazing pizza, try the Italian Store (within walking distance) where Sandra Bullock visits when she's visiting her hometown (Arlington)! There pizza is to DIE for!

“it is the real thing--New Haven style pizza”
Reviewed 23 February 2012

I have visited the Clarendon location of this pizzaria on several occasions. Having lived in New Haven, I can vouch for the authenticity of this pizza. The white clam pizza is my favorite, but I really like trying a couple of pieces of different types, freshly made. This style of pizza is not over-loaded with cheese, so not nearly as calorie-laden as many pizzas, and the crust is very crisp, not soggy. Also unusual for a pizza restaurants are the fabulous desserts and gelato. I love the Salted caramel panna cotta, and there is a nice selection of wines.

“Casual Pizza and Pasta”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

Although I dont love the idea of waiting in line to order my dinner, once the pizza or pasta arrives that concern disappears. Love the Staven - had a great kick.
I also recommend their salads - you cant go wrong with either the fried goat cheese or spinach and goat cheese.

“inventive and tasty pizza”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I always get an "edge of the woods" pizza because we LOVE the thin and crispy eggplant slices on top! This place has beautiful, tasty pizzas. Try the new smaller pizzas - they are less expensive and more than enough for the two of us.
