Our family (2 adults and 3 boys (10,12 and 14) had a great stay here. The front desk staff (Stephanie especially) was awesome. We arrived from a red eye flight and she managed to find us a room that was ready within 30 minutes even though we were super early. AWESOME! The room itself was perfect for our needs - we had the suite with the sofa bed pull out and it was a great size for our teenage son. It was also nice to have the fridge and microwave. Breakfast was excellent - always lots of great choices and regularly replenished. Free parking AND a free shuttle to the Hopkinton transit station to catch the metro directly into DC (the front desk has metro maps). Super convenient! The pool was also a nice treat and they even had a life guard. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone visiting DC with or without kids. The only negative was that the cleaning crew didn't replenish anything but a quick call to the front fixed that right away. Great experience.

PROS: very clean & well-decorated, Free shuttle from/to Huntington Metro station (2-3 min drive & 15-20 min walk), Free-breakfast (needs improvement), Free parking, reasonably priced, plenty of grocery and fast food restaurants within walkable distance, very quiet (except the AC), mini kitchen with fridge, microwave & coffee maker (would benefit from heater/kettle), gym, indoor pool, friendly staff, quick check in/out.

CONS: no coffee in loby, hard mattress, TV signal drops whenever an airplane in the sky (almost every 5 mins), noisy AC.

OVERALL: my biggest complain was the hard mattress, otherwise highly recommended.

We chose Springhill Suites thanks to its location, location, location: near our condo, which was convenient as we prepped for our move to England, and as we prepped our condo for rental.

Springhill offers a modest fitness center, pool(mostly for kids; it's small), standard breakfast options (more poppy seed squares though, please!!!!!), and easy access to H'way 1.

The hotel / location / breakfast, etc is a bit standard, but still very good... but it's the STAFF that's OUTSTANDING. Miss Stephanie, in particular, was extremely helpful arranging for copies and scans of paperwork related to both my move to England, and to my prep of my condo for rental. Her energy and willingness to assist is readily apparent, and she genuinely enjoys helping to make ones stay at Springhill Suites enjoyable! You're the most bestest Miss Stephanie!!! :)

we stayed here for several nights and truly enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and well appointed. The staff is courteous and went out of their way to accommodate us. The shuttle to the metro is great-- fast and on demand. We will be back here.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are totally silent.

We really enjoyed our spring break trip to Washington DC, staying in Alexandria. Although the hotel is not in a good location to walk places, with a short drive to the Huntington Metro Station (or free hotel shuttle bus), or a short drive to Alexandria, a lot is within reach easily. The hotel was very clean, the staff very nice, and the free breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The rooms having a separate sitting area/couch with pull out, made the hotel very comfortable. I would recommend staying here for your DC adventure.
