If you've ever wanted to visit a Third World country, save your money and just stay at this hotel. Almost everything about it seem dysfunctional. Most of the lights didn't work and the TV didn't work. There are silly rules about things they don't want you to do posted everywhere. Oh did I say the coffee maker didn't work on the door to my hotel room wouldn't completely close although thankfully I could lock it. Some of the staff are nice - others were jaded and authoritarian.

We needed a place quickly (for 3 days) as we were running from hurricane Harvey. We also needed a cat friendly place (there's a daily charge). We also needed to check in early, also a charge, but we were able to check in at 12 rather than 3. Employees were helpful, but lacked friendliness. Everything worked fine in the room and it was clean and looked better than the outside of the building. They did not refund us our tax due to booking through Expedia. Beds were lumpy and saggy in places, not comfortable. Quiet. Next to IHOP and lots of shopping, eating, etc. within a few miles. Because it was an emergency, it worked.

The operators of this hotel do a great job of giving value for the money. It is centrally located (with an IHOP next door), clean rooms and great air conditioning (which is important in Austin in the summer). I used to stay at another hotel during my many visits to Austin, but since I "found" this hotel, I stay here.

Room Tip: Central to everything!

eat breakfast in their area is free but charges $10 to take any food to your room if you don't want to stay in the lobby to consume it. Run down looking rooms...rooms was "OK" clean...found live roach in mini microwave...people right outside, parking lot, on stairs very noisy..pool in awful shape....didn't feel any security.....people just hanging out (loitering) on property, stairs and hanging over the railing of the hotel standing around watching you all hours of the night and day.....made me feel uncomfortable

Roy is very attentive, nice and gave us a room which was clean, cold (brought relief), and we enjoyed the comfort and our family slept well. There is an IHOP across and target and other stores at the other side.
