Hyatt Place Austin/Arboretum
Ranked #113 of 202 Hotels in Austin

Sure, the Hyatt Place Arboretum has many of the basics: running water, nice big TV, fresh towels, AC + heat, peasing decor... all the stuff you'd expect from a modern hotel.

But it seriously lacks decent internet, if you can even call the dial-up speeds of the early 90's "internet". It is horribly, horribly, horribly backwards and antiquated in this respect. To me, it's like not having running water, it's that fundamental. The "Free WiFi" here is a joke, to say the least (that you even say that in this era is a sign that the owner / manager is over 50).

Fast WiFi is as basic as TV, clean bed, running water.

Seriously, all they'd have to do is spend about 5K and fix the their WiFi, but it's clear they have no idea what they are doing, and don't even care (chances are, you're stuck here anyway). Modern business travelers expect fast, free internet, and it's not expensive to provide it.

Take a cue from the way Starbuck's or McDonald's does it, tho it's a shame a major hotel chain needs to copy a fast food joint to learn something about hospitality. The owner / manager should be embarrassed.

We stayed here for a weekend while visiting some friends in Austin. The hotel is conveniently located in the Arboretum and you can walk to some of the shops.

Because this is more a business hotel, it's stocked with all the necessary comforts. The rooms are big and the decoration is modern.

They do offer a continental breakfast and the option for a paid hot breakfast. In my opinion, the hot breakfast was not worth the price (unless you are just in a hurry and need the convenience).

I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from the elevator. At night, you can hear the noises coming from there and the d...

This is a terrific business hotel in a nice area of Austin. The hotel is close to many dining places. Rooms are large and extremely clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Beds are very comfortable. No bed bugs here. And the place is quiet. With the comp breakfast, you can't beat it for a night.

Have stayed here twice, most recently over Thanksgiving weekend. The facility is clean, the rooms well-furnished, and the staff generally competent. Nothing special, although the room amenities are nice for this price range. When looking for this kind of lodging, I'd generally choose Hyatt Place over competitors. This one is convenient to the Arboreturm area for shopping and dining and right by both MOPAC and 183. Breakfast could use some work.

Room Tip: The end of the property away from MOPAC is likely a little quieter.
