We were staying in Amarillo for 2 nights, and this was one of the only hotels around that would house my family of seven for a reasonable price ($130 for two nights). After staying, I cannot say I enjoyed the place. The halls were not air conditioned, and one elevator, the hot tub, and some other things were broken or nonexistent. The room seemed stuffy, but that was most likely because we stuffed six people and a baby into it.(Our room was air conditioned though, I will give it that.) About the amenities: The breakfast was not all you can eat; a person behind the counter begrudgingly served you a small portion of eggs, two sausages, and two pieces of white bread. You could then pour some juice, grab some condiments, and sit down at the mismatched table and chairs. Seconds cost $5!!!
The sausage was mighty tasty, though.
The pool was actually great, not too crowded, and a good temperature. The kids were excited to find out that they had an arcade in the hotel, but get this: NONE of the games worked. Some ate our quarters, some were just not on, and some kept malfunctioning. (There were 6 video games and a pool table) Waste of 16 quarters!
So: Overall, while this experience was not horrible, I did not really enjoy this visit and would probably not come back.More
