Owner description: The Oregon Cabaret Theatre has provided first-class entertainment and dining in the Rogue Valley for the last thirty-three years. A remodeled church located one block from OSF, the Cabaret’s venue oozes with the old school charm of the jazz era. The restaurant produces exceptional dishes and whether you have a pre-show dinner reservation or just just order drinks and dessert for intermission, the dining pairs well with the Cabaret’s exceptional productions.

We went to a Sunday afternoon performance of The Drowsy Chaperone which was delightful and the building was cool as the building is air conditioned. I had a spinach salad which included fresh spinach greens, tomatoes and watermelon. My wife had sorbet and fruit. The entertainment is better than the food, but the prices are right since the salad was $6.00 and sorbet and fruit were $6.50, which I thought was very reasonable. A fun way to spend a hot afternoon in Ashland.

We saw the Drowsy Chaperone. I'm giving it a poor rating based on food & service, not the play. The play was goofy but the singing, tap dancing and acting was top notch. Just don't order dinner. My salad was warm on top and cold in the middle, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp too long. The watermelon was wilted and the tomatoes were tasteless. The Dick Hay pie was to die for. It's a huge piece. My niece got doused with water by a rude waitress who didn't apologize or clean up and no one cared when we complained about it. If you go just get dessert and don't ask for extra water if you are sitting in the balcony.

If you are looking for small intimate theatre that serves dinner and desert, this is a great place. I have seen many shows and enjoyed them all. Some of course more than others, so it depends on your taste, but the performances are always well done.

Nestled in a Jewel Box of a Venue, the Oregon Cabaret Theatre offers a delightful evening of food and entertainment. The food is excellent, the venue is exciting, and the entertainment is engaging. Of course, we are regular attendees at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and love it. But, the Oregon Cabaret Theatre is a true favorite of ours as well. Right in downtown Ashland, it is a can't miss opportunity!

The intimate venue meant that we felt like we were part of the play. The players had great voices even though the plot was pure slapstick! Our service was excellent.
