Description: Cellar Cat is a wine-centric bistro and bar in historic downtown Albany Oregon. With our multi-award winning executive chef, our award-winning mixologist and the friendliest, most welcoming and attentive servers around, Cellar Cat is THE go-to place for dinner. lunch, brunch or a leisurely craft beer or bottle of wine enjoyed on a lazy afternoon. Our New American food is honest (the seasonal ingredients fresh, not hidden beneath heavy sauces or trickery). Our century-old brick building is kept cozy with the help of linen tablecloths and tapestry wall hangings. French-onion soup. Croissant bread pudding. New York Steak. Glorious fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Weekend additions. House made pastas. Smoked beef brisket sandwiches. Steak salad. The list, the deliciousness, goes on and on. Craft brews on tap. Classic and contemporary "cat tails". Marvelous wine. Cellar Cat - the North West's new cultural center and home away from home. THE place to Be Here Now. Meow.

Thank you Mrs PE for the fine review and for coming to visit us on that crazzzzy eclipse weekend. Wasn't that a blast? So many people everywhere. When next you visit you will enjoy our regular much more extensive brunch menu (that we reduced due to the massive volume of visitors there during the eclipse). We really appreciate your visit and taking the time to review us. Merci!

My husband & I were in town just for the evening. After perusing the reviews on TripAdvisor & checking out the menu on their website, we decided to try Cellar Cat. It was the highlight restaurant experience of our trip. The food is delicious & beautifully presented. Their unique combinations of ingredients, flavors & textures made each of our choices a true pleasure. They have an excellent wine list to pair with food choices. The wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable & very professional. The decor is very nicely done & very comfortable. Their prices are quite reasonable for this high caliber type of cuisine. We highly recommend Cellar Cat.

This was our second time having dinner here, we love it but it's a fairly expensive place for dinner and drinks so we don't go often. The grapefruit lemon drop is outstanding, my new favorite drink!! I loved that there were so many options for the cheese plate and I was extremely pleased with how moist and flavorful the fried chicken was!! We will be back!

Bored and raised in Albany. Have been away nearly 30 years in the hospitality business. I visit my father and family regularly in Albany and I'm sorry i had not been to the Cellar Cat sooner. Excellent varied menu, great wine selection and seamless service from the team there. Decor is fun and classy, well thought out in a very nice older restored building. Prices are reasonable, offering what we thought was good value for the food and especially the wine which offered a very good promotion the night we dined. Overall, i'd recommend this over most establishments in the Willamette Valley based on our experience and will return.

Thank you Rob!
High compliments from someone in the business who knows the business is the highest praise of all. THANK YOU. We love what we do, love Albany (& the many patrons coming from all over the place near and far), we love food, wine, dining out. "Seamless service" is indeed our hallmark and recently we've been fortunate in being able to attract a top-level chef from NYC who is raising the bar on food as well. He believes in "honest" food; clean, fresh, seasonal, delicious and not fussy, to go along with the wine and the service. Clearly it's working! Thank you so much for visiting us and for taking the time to write this review. So very much appreciated.

We had dinner here the day before the Eclipse. They had a special menu, which was not their full menu.

The food was good and the service OK. This might be due to unknowns about how big a crowd to expect. My salmon was great, my wife reported the chickbreast slightly undercooked. Also, while I liked the dill sauce she thought it was too strong and did not like the fact that it was all over the plate.

Still, it has a great location and nice interior. I would go there again, except I don't live here.

We wish you DID live here. Thanks for the nice review!

The eclipse was fabulous and so were all the out-of-town visitors! We ran the special Saturday/Sunday-only menu knowing it was going to be nuts and indeed it was. We had to make a hard choice about whether to see far fewer people (thus forcing them to eat fast food due to the number of closed restaurants) and run our fabulous regular menu or go with a streamlined special menu (which is what we did) and host more visitors. While we are glad we went with the latter it was a feat to do a completely different menu for two days only and in such high volume.

Thanks for coming in and taking the time to review us. We really appreciate you!
