Ardmore isn't exactly a town that should receive praise for its cuisine.
However, this place deserves plenty of it.
Not only was the Brookview Cafe the best food in Ardmore, it was the best vegetarian restaurant I've been to, and I've been to many in much larger cities.
Their salad bar was exceptionally good.
They have a store in there as well which served vegetarian frozen foods/entrees and a section for dry goods. They also had homeopathic/alternative products.

Brookview Cafe (also known as Veggie's) in Ardmore has to be one of the best-kept secrets around, although it's not so secret to Ardmore residents. The restaurant almost always has a brief line (salads are made to order, right in front of you, as Subway does its sandwiches) among locals who drop in for lunch. My hubby and I made regular treks to Ardmore from the Dallas area for business purposes. If people from the Metroplex got wind of this cafe, they'd make the 2-hour drive to try it. Our favorite is always the "haystack" salad, which has an underlayer of chips and a dairy-free cheese-like sauce. Then the cheerful server adds whatever toppings you like--everything is fresh, with veggies such as jicama and edamame that you don't see every day on a salad bar. Salads are priced by the pound/the more you pile on, the more the salad costs, obviously, but all is clearly reasonable. The restaurant also has fresh homemade soups daily. On our recent visit the special was a vegan Lasagna that smelled out of this world. I forgot to mention the homemade dressings--about a half dozen from which to choose. This restaurant is adjacent to a health-food store and a health-education center. Becoming more health-conscious clearly is the design here. Run, don't walk, to this marvelous place!
