We visited Gary’s 8 years ago , and have talked about how great the soft shelled crab was ever since. While traveling in the area we had to go there again. I’m so happy to report that it’s still as awesome as we remembered. The building and furnishings are still the same, too, which may turn you off when first entering the restaurant. If you want a fancy restaurant, go somewhere else and don’t complain on trip advisor. But if you are craving some awesome good food, go to Gary’s! We also loved the she crab soup so much we bought several pints to go!

While living in Pamlico County last year, Gary's was our go to spot. The food is consistently good and the hush puppies the best in the land, bar none. Never had better chowder either. We now live in Tucson... and boy do we miss Gary's. btw.. say Hi to Victoria!! Hope she is well.

We had a party of 5. Greeter Sarah & server Amber were awesome! Time wasn’t wasted and service was personal like they wanted to be treated. Amber was full of joy and warm jokes. If we could’ve had her join us we would’ve. This facility is at a good location, reasonable prices and a very nice selection. The fish sandwich was huge,and perfectly cooked. All of the food was full of flavor; fish sandwich, crab claws, steak, burger, cornbread bites, Apple fritters, green beans, etc
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Staff was very friendly and the clam chowder was very good. Their hamburger plate and fries was excellent. We will be back.

This was the only place open on a Sunday night.

Came down from oriental, and was glad to have this option.

Flounder, slaw, fries were all fine.

A little pricey, but at least they were open and food was tasty.
