Arrived at club vera tmt 16th sept 2011 at 245am porter showed us to room. Big room had a view off the grounds but no sea or pool view as a had requested, this did'nt bother me as would be noiser round the front. Room had aircon which leaked on the first day but soon dryed up a free save and fridge with 1 big bottle off water. The maids came in the room daily to clean. Decor basic beds not 2 bad for sleeping on. Shower curtain kept falling down as pole not screwed on wall when this happened once a was more carefull. Not 1 to moan. Good variety off food for dinner and. lunch Breakfast not so good as more continental a didn't want cucumber and feta so had cereal most days. Beware off the camera man that walks round the pool during the day he says u want fotoshoot so i agreed its not till you get the fotos back that he gives you a price £90 for 50 photos no thank you. Entartainment team so busy all the time a dont know where they get their energy always dancing around ,the club dance got a bit boring after a fortnyt though. Spotless hotel plenty staff tidying up glasses and rubbish around the pool. Disco on the beach most nights. 15-20mins walk into Bodrum. Would recommend boat trip to kos turkish bath and visit 2 gumbet. WELL DONE VERA CLUB!!!

Room Tip: your basically have 2 take what u are given a booked a year in advance but did'nt get what a wan...

I have just come back from a weeks holiday at the Vera Club TMT in Bodrum. It is the first time that I have been to Turkey and i have to admit that the reviews I read on this website made me worry. The hotel grounds were spotless with beautiful gardens and the staff were very friendly. When we arrived the people who had our room before us toke the room key with them so we did not have a key so we had to inform he reception when we wanted to get into our room. The manager told us that if he could not get a replacement key the next day he would put us in a different room. The next day we were given another room which was an upgrade from our original room. We were given a villa which had a nice living room was nice but it was a bit dated. The bedroom had a musty smell and the shower was cracked and a bit mouldy. My boyfriend went down to reception and calmly explained to them that the room wasn't the nicest. They were very appologetic and gave us another room which was another upgrade. We were given a 2 bedroom appartment which would have cost 300 Euros per night. Our rep Katie was a great help and arranged for us to have a late check out free of charge. There were other guets that were rude to the people at reception and shouting at them which we thought was unacceptable. The staff work up to 14 hours a day and are more than willing to help if you have a complaint. There is no need to be rude to them if you go and have a problem with the room they will change it for you which alot of hotles will no do without thre being a charge and an attitude.

The room was cleaned every day and we were given clean towls every day. There is plenty of entertainment on by the poolside every day and there are free of charge watersports at the beach.

The hotel attratcts alot of holiday makers from Russia, France, Belgium and Holland. The resteraunt has to cater for everyones tastes. If you are expecting to eat chips and egg every night and be surrounded by English people talking about Coronation Street go to Benidorm if yo want your holiday to be just like home. (They did have chips)

We went to Turkey to experience a different type of holiday and that includes trying different types of food. We had a great time and it was themost relaxing holiday that we have ever had and we will definatley go back to Bodrum.

We were slightly deflated by the other British people at our hotle that constantly moaned. The funniest was a couple moaning that there was too many steps at the water park to get to the slide. It's faie to say that these people met and spent most of their holiday with other wingers, monkey see monkey do. Some people are just miserable.

We had a great time and would highly recommend it.

This is an extract from my complaint to thomas cook, they were meant to reply to me within 30 days (under abta code) its been 2 months now and I have heard nothing.

Upon arrival at the resort we were checked into some very small, old and dark rooms overlooking a staff courtyard. After arguing with reception we were moved to new rooms with a sea view. However these rooms weren't much nicer. We discovered that the windows could easily be opened from the outside which left our possessions at a much larger security risk! As well as this our room had a strong smell of sulphur which we tracked down to be coming from a crack in the shower tray where water would sit and then be released when stepping into the shower, releasing a vile smell.

Hygiene at the resort was appalling and in the EU would not be deemed as legal! 12 out of the 13 people in our party came down with sickness & diarrhoea on our second day as well as 3 other groups we spoke to who were also staying at the resort! This resulted in us not being unable to enjoy our holiday as we weren't capable of leaving the resort. On return to the UK I was prescribed antibiotics to clear the sickness and diarrhoea. The food in the canteen(restaurant) was left uncovered in the heat with flies circling it and there were stray cats in the restaurant. There was nowhere at the entrance for guests to wash their hands! One day we witnessed a cleaner clean the toilet and head straight to making our beds without washing his hands!

Hygiene aside, the food in the canteen was very bland, not very fresh and repetitive. The most delicious meal we had whilst in the hospitality of Thomas Cook was the plane food!

The staff at the hotel were very rude and did not offer a 4 star service. We were often refused drinks at the bar (even bottles of water) and some of the staff harassed the girls in our group constantly asking us to go out with them every evening.

The facilities at the resort were also poor; The gym was not air-conditioned and much of the equipment was broken or missing. The tennis rackets were bent and missing strings. The staff on their break tried to push us off the courts so they could have a game, despite the fact we had booked it and borrowed the rackets!

It was very clear to us that our rep Andrew was not very fond of our hotel either as it was very hard to contact him and he joked about being moved to a better hotel! The story is same for many of the other guests we met.

The reasons I have listed above turned our trip (that was meant to be a celebration of finishing college) into a nightmare! I do not understand how you could possibly justify advertising such a place, let alone charging £640 per person for the horror.

After reading it's reviews we were so apprehensive about staying here, but I'm glad to say there was nothing to worry about! (I got to say "I told you so" all week to the boyfriend!) The hotel is just beautiful, right on the sea front with amazing views, bars all over the place! about 4 different pools and the huge open air restaurant - the facilities were all amazing.

I've never seen so many staff about in one place either, chefs were always out checking the food, we saw one poor guys pancakes scrapped as the chef didn't think they were good enough! Security guards at the quieter points constantly and even people checking the seafront/jetty area on a night time - they were always friendly and spoke to you aswell - I liked it! Made me sure I was staying in a decent place! We were in the Annexe (truth be told the whole place is the annexe really - it looks like they may have bought out smaller surrounding hotels - which is fine! more to explore!) and we did change our room - the first one was perfectly clean, a little rundown but the only reason we changed was that it had no safe and no terrace - so it wasn't really very private. The reception staff didn't seem to keen to move us, and on our way down to the rep meeting we saw the people in the room opposite us leave - so we told the rep and wondered if we could get into theirs instead. She was absolutley fantastic and sorted it straight out - no extra charge or anything so we got a much bigger room with a balcony and sea view! It was gorgeous! We spent a lot of time at the smaller salt-water pool near our room as it was always practically deserted with a bar that had snacks etc and a lovely view - much more peaceful than the main pool - however being on the jetty next to the sea was lovely too. There was always a bit of wind so it didnt get stifilingly hot.

The food was delicious, they had hot-plates outside where they cooked the best stuff fresh infront of you - I had omlettes and pancakes EVERY morning!! There was always loads of choice, couldn't fault the food at all - or the alchohol for that matter, not watered down at all judging my state on the third morning! There were beanbags you could sunbathe on on the jetty's - but you were also allowed to use them at night (really good really as some poor sod will have to put them away again and they could just say no!) so we spent most nights sitting on them down beside the sea - it was gorgeous.
All in all we loved it and would without a doubt reccomend it! The spa was great and a real bargain! Get a Turkish Bath and a massage! A slight downfall which didn't really bother us as we were on the jetty most nights was the entertainment, they really did try! And said hello every morning, but they were a bit rubbish - and I couldn't get a Malibu and Coke anywhere!! But if you've booked to go here I'm jealous! You'll really enjoy it, great location, stunning views - the boyfriend was very excited with the big ships that kept going in and out of the harbour! Delicious food and just a lovely holiday!

P.S hello to our lovely friends the Lambert family if you're reading! :D

Room Tip: Watch whats going on around you! If you see people checking out and their room looks better than you...
