The place where you can smell the ancient times and past of Ankara.
Get lost between the narrow streets and authentic shops.
In Ankara first place you must see is Anitkabir then Ankara castle .
Also if you r hungry then eat doner/meatball in a old and authentic rest.Dursun.

If you want to feel the traditional Ankara, you must spend half a day in the castle.
Car park is a challenge in the old city, so it is better driving by taxi which is quite safe and cheap.
Restaurants are a bit over priced but offer traditional food and events.

The place is full of renovated old buildings. There are a lot of antiqe shops and nice restourants and a very good view of the city

This is an open air place with a nice area to walk through and look for nick nacks, but don't expect a pay entry castle with majestic rooms and museum. Perfect round view from one of the main walls

If you come to Ankara, the castle is probably but don't get your hopes high. The place is not administered by anybody and there are absolutely no safety precautions. If you go with younger kids, you have to be extremely cautious. You can't find any information about the place. So make sure to read before you go. The castles itself of course pretty interesting and a must see however authorities must do better to make it accessible for visitors.
