I booked this hotel for an upcoming wedding this summer. The rate was listed as 100% refundable when I booked it (we were uncertain about whether we would stay at the venue so I was sure to check it was refundable before booking, in case our plans changed). The wedding was postponed due to covid, so I cancelled online. I waited several weeks and decided to call Choice hotels since I had yet to receive a refund. After an hour and a half on the phone with them, they refused to refund me 100%. They said I was responsible for a 10% credit card fee for the refund. The website said when booking, and still states on my cancellation page, that the rate is 100% refundable. This seems very shady to me, and the fact I had to call to request the refund even though it should have been refunded automatically is also awful business practices. We will definitely not be staying here when the wedding is rescheduled. Proceed with caution.
