we were so impressed with Bob and staff here, they helped us get our sim cards up and running, were just so helpful and interested in our holiday, we made a point of calling on our way back, and they reinstalled our sim card, took us to the money exchanger and looked at our photos, amazing young people.

Conveniently located next door to the Pan Pacific Hotel, it's one of the few bars in the area not catering to the Red Light District Traffic. Warm and inviting, the staff will attend to every detail, engaging with you as much or as little as you would like. The restaurant is owned by an older ex-Filipino film star and is crammed with memorabilia from all pop culture over the last 50 years or so. Music might not be to everyone's taste (oldies from the 50's and 60's), but the atmosphere is a nice change to most of the bars in the area. Chicken Asparagus Soup is tasty and the beers are ice cold. Nice place to start or finish your evening in the much wilder surrounding Malate area.

We took a chance on this upstairs bar/restaurant as were passing by. It is chock full of memorabilia, most of it very interesting, most 60s ish rock. It is a small place, but with a unique menu. The star here is the paella. We orered a medium, at less than 900 php. It was way big! Very tasty, and everyone loved it! Also good was the steak and the potatoes and veggies that came with it. Everything we had was superb.
But....The primary clientele here is Japanese and Korean. No problem there, but you know that means cigarette smoke. Lots of it. Constant. And with it being a very small place, there is not escape. Well, actually, there is one escape. They have a VIP karaoke room (overlooking the street!). It is free if your tab is over something like 2800 php. We were offered to dine there when we mentioned the heavy smoke, and they said we could dine there even if we didn't spend the 2800 php. Well there were 5 of us, and with appetizers, entrees, deserts, drinks it was over than amount anyway.
We very happy overall, and when we return to Manila, we will drop in, and if the VIP room is available we will dine. If not, no.

So if you smoke, or can use the VIP room, you will not be disappointed!
