I highly recommend reservations as it is basically impossible to walk-in due to how busy and popular it is. But for very good reason. We came across this place online due to the great reviews so we booked one month in advance and were looking forward to this meal during our entire trip to Japan, and it did not disappoint!
Food: They serve Matsusaka beef (Japanese black cattle raised a strict way) which is out of this world! The marbling on some of their meats created a unique and tasty bite every time! I’ve never tried anything like this before!
Value: They offer 3 set menus with the variations based on the price and quality of meats you get. We got the premium course which is 7800 Yen and despite the cost, it is a good deal when you consider what you get. The set menu comes with an appetizer, beef nigiri, the choice of a rice/ noodle (I recommend the garlic rice), 4 kinds of meat (chosen by the chef) and a dessert. They also offer menu items a la carte if you wish. Yes it’s not cheap but for the quality, it’s definitely worth it in my opinion if you’re looking for a special meal!
Service: We were served by the floor manager Takeo and he provided excellent service from start to finish! Takeo was a great host even though he was super busy and took the time to explain how everything worked from the menu to cooking the beef. Takeo made the experience that much better and we enjoyed interacting with him during our meal. We were even given a complimentary cake to celebrate our anniversary which was a nice thought. Thank you Takeo!
Overall their high ratings are justified. It was a very memorable meal and we would definitely come back during our next trip to Japan!
