This is a very big hotel and does not have a cozy feeling, but it does have great concierge services. You can also send you bag from the hotel to another hotel in Japan which is nice.
The concierge services are great and can help you with purchasing the train tickets. You can't buy them there but you can get the type of ticket and the seat location and have them write this for you in Japanese and take it to the train station to purchase the ticket.

Very nice hotel with connectivity to subway right in front as well as complementary frequent bus connectivity to train station. Service was good...with restaurants and stores nearby...this was very convinient.

We stayed at the RIHGA Royal Osaka in November 2009 for a few days for business. The hotel reservations were arranged for us, so I do not know the room rate.

We were placed in the Natural Comfort floors, which were pretty posh. The room was very spacious, more than enough for the two of us and probably enough to easily accomodate 4+ travelers. Beds were very comfortable with very good quality linens and a fluffy comforter, and there was not a speck of dust to be found anywhere.

We also had a fairly expansive entertainment center with LCD TV and integrated sound system, although I did not use it. The complimentary massage chair was great; I tried it initially due to the novelty and ended up in the chair for nearly an hour, massaging out all the kinks from sitting on a plane on a 13+ hour flight. The free wired internet was easy to set up.

The hotel aqua center was visible from our hotel room and looked on par with the pools at the higher end Las Vegas hotels. We also had access to the Executive Lounge for a complimentary buffet breakfast, snacks throughout the day, and then hor d'oeuvres in the evening. There was a combination of Western and Japanese style items available at all times, and the quality was certainly better than what you can get at most complimentary hotel breakfast buffets in the US.

My only caveat would probably be the location. As noted by other reviewers, there is not really anything immediately adjacent to the hotel. Having said that, though, it was less than a 5 min walk to one of the main roads, where there were restaurants, convenience stores, etc. There was also a complimentary shuttle that ran to the JR Osaka station that we tried taking one morning; it was a motor coach and very well operated with designated seating areas for awaiting the shuttle. But Japan has a very strong walking culture, and we honestly didn't even bother using the shuttle after the first day because it was only a 15 min walk to JR Osaka station (and that includes bypassing all the other subway stations we could have used). The subway system in Osaka is fairly extensive and I think most travelers who have experience with a metropolitan public transportation system would not find the location of the hotel to be an issue.

This hotel was a real treat after 14 hour plane trip. Rooms are spacious, clean, very well appointed. Staff were very helpful, most spoke some english. I booked a standard double through Hotel Club, and were given a lovely room on the 12th floor with a King Size bed. The location isn't great, but there is a subway station right next to the hotel. Free shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes until late to JR Osaka Station, which was handy for restaurants.
