-Our favorite hotel in Sapporo due to its superb location adjoining the Sapporo JR station and Stellar Place Mall. Convenient for moving suitcases at connection stay to other location in Hokkaido.
-Hotel tower is significantly higher than the surroundings, offering a good view.
-Moderate room size in Japanese Hotel standard, especially the 4-piece toilet with bathtub and shower.

We stayed at JR Tower Hotel in Feb 2018 for 2 nights. We had nothing to complain about. I think the location of the hotel is the best in Sapporo. The rooms were clean and bright with spectacular city view. There was a spa (or one could call it an onsen) inside the hotel that guests could use at a very reasonable price. We wanted to go there but it's a pity that we did not have enough time for that. The staff were helpful and spoke fluent English. The price of the hotel is higher than nearby hotels, but I'll still choose to stay in JR Tower Hotel if I visited Sapporo again for the good location (a bus terminal is located right outside the hotel, where people can go to many onsen areas by bus at that terminal).

For first time visitors, this hotel is incredibly convenient irrespective of whether you arrived by train or car. The breakfast on the top floor has a superb view and the choices are great. The rooms are very clean and nice. The only hiccup is the concierge lady who was probably stressed out at work and could have been more helpful than our usual positive experience in japan. Besides the bluntness, she refused to book a restaurant for us on a date which was just one day outside our booking...sigh. We had better service in less expensive hotels all over Japan....

Thank you very much for staying with us at JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo.

We are pleased to know that you were satisfied with access to the hotel and about eating breakfast while enjoying the view from the top floor during your stay.

Meanwhile, we would like to offer our sincere apologies for the discomfort caused by the insufficient level of support from our concierge.

As detailed interactions are required between the customer, the concierge, and the restaurant, restaurant bookings via our concierge can only arranged for days that fall within a customer's stay. We appreciate your kind understanding in this regard.

Moving forward, we will once again review our hospitality so as to be able to offer service of an even higher level of quality, treating each and every customer with great care.

We respectfully ask that you not be discouraged by this incident and that you continue to patronize our hotel in the future.

We stayed here for three nights during the famous Snow Festival (or Yuki Matsuri), and so we had to book a long time in advance (rooms for this period go on sale in early October, from memory). I dutifully waited for the rooms to go on sale, and everything was sorted out quickly and easily by email.

It's obviously a busy time of year for Sapporo, but there are plenty of hotels to choose from. That said, staying at the Nikko was the right choice, and one we would make again if we return to this city in future. As mentioned by others, it is easily accessible from the JR station (which is where most will enter Sapporo through, either by train from elsewhere, or by the thirty-odd minute train from Chitose airport). Within minutes of exiting through the ticket barriers, we were in the hotel lobby and checking in. Clear signage, too, from the station itself made the walk very easy. So, all in all, an ideal base to be in. We could easily get to all over the city from the adjoining tube stations, and trains further afield are frequent.

The welcome we received was as efficient and friendly as the initial booking. We were quickly checked-in, and shown our room. As a family of three (with a young child), we opted for what is known as a "moderate double". I did not see the normal double rooms so it's hard to make a comparison, but the room was large enough for the three of of us, and so we were comfortable. Everything was well appointed and clean. Our room was south facing, overlooking central Sapporo and the mountains that hem it in. A wonderful sight to wake up to, or to stare out on in the middle of the night whilst battling jet lag. I am sure rooms facing other directions provided equally pleasant views.

The bathroom was small but big enough for the job. There was all manner of toiletries provided, and the wet room set up meant it was possible to take a shower and then hop straight into the steaming bathtub (in the Japanese style). Good housekeeping meant that everything that needed to be replaced was. Although I was happy to see that the hotel had taken the environmentally sound decision to not replace half-used rolls of toilet paper on a daily basis.

In terms of dining, we ate breakfast on one morning only, and the quality and selection was very good. Nice views from the restaurant, although it's popular so you might have to wait a while for a seat. The location means that there are plenty of other eating options around. Within the same buildings/complex, we chose different bakeries each morning (although not as luxurious, it was cheaper and quicker), and there are an untold number of places to go for both lunch and dinner. There is a convenience store underneath, which was useful.

If friends or family asked would we recommend staying here, the answer would be a resounding "yes". It's modern, in an unrivalled location and has hardworking and friendly staff. It's not the cheapest place in town, but worth it if your budget allows.

Room Tip: All rooms are on high floors. A south-facing room offers great views of the city and mountains.

Sapporo was our last stop for Hokkaido honeymoon trip, and we stayed at this hotel. No regrets! Not the most expensive hotel we stayed in Hokkaido, but definitely it’s the best hotel with the most luxurious and modern feel among all. The location is excellent, it’s just at JR station itself. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, and with best English speaking communication compare to other hotels. We were assigned to a room at 31st floor, the unblocked night-view is stunning! Breakfast buffet is at 35th floor and the food is good with varieties, you can relax and enjoy the food with unblocking stunning views as well! Lastly we are really surprised and we appreciate the hotel actually arranged a lovely bear with wishing card as a gift to welcome us for our honeymoon trip . It’s a incredible stay and we would like to thank the hotel and staff for the wonderful experience.
