The property needs a total refit inside. Having experienced a typical room before being upgraded to a suite we would have not stayed at the property in a typical room.

The suite was comfortable, the view was good and room was clean. The bathroom amenities were even better than at The Makkah Marriott Jabal Omar. But the compliments stop there.

Although clean and well looked after all the decor is tired. The staff although very friendly are penny pinchers rather than service deliverers. The Morning breakfast was good but the afternoon and evening arrangements are just not adequate. In room dining was shocking and no lounge or any facilities available for platinum members.

After arguing and insisting to what I am entitled to as a Platinum member food for three days was horrible but complimentary and a free taxi to the airport as the shuttle we had booked left without us despite us being on time.

Sooo much potential with its location needs investment in refurbishment and service training.

Room Tip: Higher level haram view

The hotel located in the central area of the masjed alnabawi. The check in experience was excellent and room allocation was great. This was done by the receptionist Amar. The furniture is a bit old and need to be refurbished. The restaurant is not as expected, the tables distribution and the ambiance .. overall, acceptable with great potential for improvement,,

Not the best Marriott I have stayed in. Check-in process was ok but had communication issue with front-desk person. Room was good sized however lot of traffic noise and curtains did not cover the windows completely. Hotel provided shuttle to Haram but you still need to walk. Hotel is about half a kilometer from gate 6 of Haram so with young kids it was not always easy to go back and forth. Breakfast had a lot of options but few things did not seem fresh.

Went there as a family in November.

There were several negatives, which is a bit uncharacteristic of Marriott standards. We weren't greeted warmly at all at the reception which was a bit disappointing. I asked for a high floor room at the time of reservation to avoid the traffic noise but got one on the second floor. The rooms are small and outdated, the shower was poor (the plumbing infrastructure needs urgent renovation), and the third bed in the room was a poorly placed single bed next to some electrical wiring on the wall. The staff were also unfriendly when we checked out.

Positives were the location, within walking distance of the Prophet's mosque, the breakfast and breakfast staff, and allowing us late checkout after prayer. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Overall not a bad experience, but not that great either.
