The railway museum is wonderful. The engines are enormous and extremely impressive, also the variety of different kinds of wagons, and the number of engines and wagons. There is also a fine collection of cars and lorries from the 1950's and 1960's. This museum is of enormous interest to adults and even more to children. You will want to photograph everything. The descriptions are available only in Russian, but that is not really a problem, as the purpose of the exhibits is perfectly clear and you can read the year in which they were built. The museum is outside the city centre, but not difficult to reach. Just take bus number 8 from Lenin Square (the central square of Novosibirsk) in the direction of Academgorodok and you will be there in about 30 minutes. The entrance fee is 250 roubles (between 3 and 4 euros).

Nice to see a lot of old railway locomotives and wagons. Most in good condition, definitely well painted :-)
Some are possible to climb in (Steam Locomotive, prison train).
Reachable by suburban train from Novosibirsk Main station in about 40min. Also go one more stop on the train and see the nice beach at the Ob-Reservoir.

A surprisingly interesting outdoor museum. There are are train cars and locomotives from the early 1900's to recent years. Part of the museum is a collection of Soviet/Russian autos.

This museum is little bit far away from center of Novosibirsk. But if you want to visit Akademgorodok scientific town, you can easily find this museum on your way to Akademgorodok. You can see almost all kinds of locomotives and Russian cars.
You can get into some trains and take pictures. Good place to see.

You need to travel to Akademgorodok from dowtown of Novosibirsk to visit this museum. It is about 25 km ride on taxi, bus or local train. Meseum is very easy to find, it is located just along the main road from Novosibirsk to Akademgorodok.
Prices are reasonable, but you need to pay if you want to take pictures with your camera. Only cash is accepted.
Almost all trains and vagons you can observe only outside, entering is not possible. And it is not big fun, to walk along trains, as many of them are quite similar.
Probably the best part of this museum is old Soviet cars, you should walk there and watch it.
This place an open-air museum, and walking might be rather long, if you'll decide to see everything. So, choose nice day, not too hot, rainy or cold.
