The hotel is located in a smallish historical building very near the historical center of Vyborg. Both the central park and the Salakkalahti bay are just a few steps away and the location is about half way between the market place in one direction and the Red Square and the Aalto Library in the other direction. It's also not much more than a 5 minutes walk from the Vyborg railway station provided you find the shortest route. The neighboring, rather tall Soviet style block of flats gives a bit unreal feeling but does not cause any other discomfort than blocking the view to the bay.
The interior of the hotel is nicely renovated and designed and the rooms are very decent for a 3 star hotel. The booking service on the internet worked fine even though it was not entirely in English despite the language selection. The free WiFi worked very well.
The breakfast was quite rudimentary but one cannot really complain as it was included in the very reasonable priced booking of a Superior Room. There are also a number of restaurants in the vicinity. A tip for all the Finns looking for nostalgia: the newly renovated and recently reopened restaurant Espilä is about 100 meters from the hotel.More
