As a one night layover hotel for us en route to Helsinki, we thought this hotel was practical and suitable for what we needed. It’s quite old-fashioned but still quite likeable. A spacious lobby area, with adjoining bar called The Sea Wolf and additional facilities such as a sauna, leads on to the two elevators, an in-house club and bar advertising ‘go-go girl’s’ and ‘strippers’ and large dining room.
We didn’t expect the hotel to be quite as big as it was, so that’s one positive if you like a sizeable hotel, this one is deceptively big.
Breakfast was a little disappointing and fried breakfast components like bacon and proper scrambled egg are missing. Cold meats and pastries are available but there is no fresh juice, instead there is a Ribena-like squash next to the tea and coffee.
There was no safe in our room and we had a shower over a bathtub in the bathroom. The single beds are narrow but comfy, and it also a difficult mission to locate sockets in the room without unplugging lamps and the television.
The hotel, overall, is practical and good enough for a one night stay.
