The hotel is in a very good location on Volga embankment and in a very good area to visit all the local attractions. Food served is good and I loved the service here. Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. I was here in winter and it was a lovely scene to see frozen Volga and people fishing. Rooms are nice in size and have all facilities, a fridge and a nice bathroom with shower cube. Only thing missing was an electric kettle. However there is room service for food and drinks. I had a comfortable double room with a view towards the river and it was beautiful. The staff were kind to remember my birthday and present me a birthday card.

This hotel is located on the river Volga and his location is very singular.
The staff is very gentle and helpful. However the rooms and the corridors are too outdated and quite well in need of cleaning.
Our room stank of sweet, perhapso due to the carpet which was filthy.
The breakfast was good and the waitress very kind.

The hotel is well managed, good rooms, tidy, normal "russian" brekfast facilities. The position is unique as the hotel is placed on a boat on the bank of Volga. They warmly welcomed us and gave us a standard bonus for a drink to be taken on the terrace, with a great view of the river and of one of the best banks ever seen in my travels. Yaroslavsl banks are sure worth to be visited with 2/3 hours of time to enjoy the atmosfere and the Russians making sports and relaxing on the long walk. Also the severe atmospheres of the local churches seems to be more tolerant if seen from the bank in a sunny summer day.

The hotel is set in a beautiful setting - on the river Volga with fantastic views. However the beds were very uncomfortable, rock hard. Both me and my husband had a very restless night due to this, which is a shame. Yarolslavl is quaint and a very interesting city, and the hotel is perfectly located to all the main attractions. If you're happy to pay upto £100 a night for bed and breakfast - then this is perfect regarding loctaion and romantic views - however remember it may not be an easy sleep!

Room Tip: A room with a view and balcony is recommended - rooms are small but ok for a night.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights over a long weekend in Yaroslavl. Definitely highly recommended for the location, quality of rooms and service, and ambiance.
Location. The hotel is situated on the riverfront and offers excellent views of Volga river. If you are up for a splurge, get a river-view room, which will give you a chance to wake up with magnificent panorama of Volga out of your window. The building looks like a ship and is actually built on the water. Location is in the historical center, 5-10 minutes walk from all historical and cultural sites and main tourist areas of Yaroslavl. The embankment is favorite place for citizens and tourist for having a quite pleasant stroll and the views are definitely worth it. There are several restaurants and cafes on the embankment. It is strategic location to discover the town, as you wake up in the morning, walk out onto the riverfront, enjoy breathtaking view of the river in the morning with the sun and blue sky and the horizon, climb a street up – and you are at your first site of the day.
Rooms. They have two buildings – number 1 is the older one (do not know how the rooms are inside, but most of them seem to have a small balcony), number 2 - was added later, standard rooms do not have balconies. «Older» is a relative term, as the hotel looks well maintained and new.
Standard room was not large but big enough for two people. It had a small entrance hall and a room with window overlooking the river and embankment. All furnishings and decoration are very fresh, new and nicely done. The bed might seem a little bit hard if you are used to softer mattress at home. Bathroom was reasonable size with a shower-cabin. The shower-cabin even had a message function, which was not working in our case, but we really did not mind. Do take your own toiletries like shampoo, shower-gel and the rest, as in most Russian hotels except top chains in Moscow you normally get only a piece of soap, which is the case here as well. Towels were changed every day. One drawback is the noise isolation - you can definitely hear people in the corridor coming back after their dinner - but again was no problem, as there was no one having a party in the corridor at the time of our stay.
Service. The hotel offers more services than we expected from a 3 star hotel. There is safe in the room (free), mini-bar (with reasonable prices), 24*7 room service and wi-fi (for a fee). In addition they have a sauna, organize river trips on their own boat and offer concierge services, like reservations and organizing excursions. The latter might be handy for non-Russian speakers. Hotel caters well for foreign visitors as staff at reception speak very good English, hotel booklet with instructions and descriptions of services is in Russian and in English, as is the menu for room service and restaurant. Staff at the reception are very friendly and accommodating. In general, people in Yaroslavl are very open and friendly, the service is sometimes better than in Moscow, and definitely more sincere.
Food. Buffet breakfast is included in the price of the room and offers good variety for each taste: cereals, yoghurt, toast, sweet cakes, butter, jam, sausage, cheese and hot fare like fried eggs, sausages and bacon. Instant coffee and tea. The staff do not always manage the replenishment of an item that is finished right away, but if you ask them for something they respond very fast. The hotel has a lobby bar open 24*7 where you can also get dinner, a restaurant and an open summer terrace where apparently they do barbecue in summer (we were too early in the year, it was still closed, but the view from the terrace is excellent). We did not have lunch or dinner in the hotel, however the reviews in Russian sites are very good, and desserts seem to be their specialty. Descriptions sound mouthwatering, too bad we didn't have room to try them out this time after the big dinners in the town.
All in all this is a very nice place that blends in well in the tranquil atmosphere of the historical part of Yaroslavl, comfortable, good value for money, especially when compared to Moscow region prices.
