We really enjoyed Madisa Camp. It is beautifully located amongst the boulders. Our site was huge, with plenty of shade from an enormous tree. The individual toilet, shower and kitchen facilities were some of the best we encountered. The swimming pool is interesting and tempting. The only let down is the bar which is small and lacks character. However, with the peace and the stars we felt happy and relaxed. Would return.

Wasn't sure what to score this amazing place but in the end gave it 4 stars for its quirkiness.
It is very rustic with no electricity beyond a couple of hours from 7pm & then only for one light!
The toilet / shower block was clean & interesting - built on a platform & open to the skies - as it was open, it had some stains caused by the weather conditions
The reception was set around a nice looking swimming pool & the staff were helpful although we didn't use the pool or bar. We did the rock climb just behind reception & this was really nice.
We did a bbq for our meal & a nice cold beer or two in the absolute silence staring at the clear sky just made for a great evening.
This place will not suit all, being so isolated & rustic but we enjoyed.

Madisa was one of our favorite campsites on our roadtrip round Namibia. It's shaded, private, you have your own braai area with a basin and running water, and your own decked toilet and shower (no roof, super!). There's no electricity, but we had brought candles.

I think it was the rustic peacefulness that we loved. And it was nice to see the local herdsman and his cattle passing through.

There are baboons and jackals, and the desert elephants also pass through, so be prepared!

It was surprisingly cool in the evening (August) and it had actually gone below zero a few weeks earlier, so make sure you have enough warm gear if you're travelling during the winter months.

Yup, absolutely would go back, even if the drive there wasn't the easiest. It's a rocky route, so make sure you have spare tires with!

The Camp is situated along a dry riverbed. However after having been spoiled on the previous sites in Namibia, I was dismayed to see cattle tracks through the camp. It is a quiet camp, with a bar and a helpful manager.

Loved camping here. We were the only guests, the owner was lovely and had great knowledge of the area, really friendly and helpful. Even took a walk with my husband and 9 year old to show them rock carvings.my 9 year old absolutely loved this place , climbing the rocks. Our campsite was unique.
