Hello fellow travelers!!! Been travelling around Morrocco for the past 2 weeks and totally fell in love with Essaouïra!! The only thing missing to make it perfect was a place where i could relax, enjoy good food and a good atmosphere.... Then i came across Le Chrysalis... What a place! Friendly staff, amazing food, not pricey and great place to unwind after a long day out. Will definatly be recommending it to my friends, and will also most definatly come back!!! Make sure you stop there on your visit!! Loved it!!xxx

This newish restaurant set in gardens alongside Medina walls is a good newcomer to town. The terrace is nice to have lunch & inside looks good for dinner. Service was good. Choice of food was very good with meals that can't be had elsewhere in Essaouira. Black pudding always welcome! Charcuterie excellent, salmon dishes plus duck.
Bit pricy but a good treat.

The sole meuniere was as good as one would get in a top class European restaurant - straight out of the sea in a light batter with almonds. Service efficient and courteous. Price close to Irish prices for a good lunch - which wasn't cheap but worth it.
Well worth patronising - close to the Bus terminal and the beach.

I visited this restaurant earlier today with my very elderly in-laws and 2 of their friends. We waited over an hour before bread was put on the table. It was 1 hour and 55minutes before 5 of the 6 meals were served. Most of the food was cold, or not adequately cooked. Whilst we were there, 17 people left (all French) as they had grown tired of waiting. I refused to pay part of my bill, and The Patron told me he had only just opened and did not yet have adequate staff. I would be very very wary of the 11 glowing references ( all French) that you have on your web site, as I do not believe them to be either a true reflection of the restaurant or the French attitude to eating and food. I would recommend this place to your Avoid at all cost list. I have also written to the Moroccan Tourist Board about the standards I experienced
