Visited this restaurant twice on honeymoon while staying at CBMP. One was as a result of us being on honeymoon and advertised as a candlelight dinner....the only difference between our table and everyone elses was we had 3 tealights :P

Anyway, the service, incredible! The staff go above and beyond when catering to any needs, from recommending wines to just checking up on us, they ticked all the boxes!

We were on the AI package, so we had limited options on what we could have (plenty of choices for wine!!) but when we wanted to deviate from the AI that was absolutely fine.

If I had to knock it at all is that the food is very rich! It may just be my tastebuds but that wasn't the best (the foie gras i'm referring to) - the steak was seriously good!!

Dont forget to ask for the cheese as your dessert and watch the cart be wheeled to you with an incredible array of options.

Yes - you should visit here while in the area.

We're staying at the Constances Belle Mare Plage hotel and their fine dining restaurant is the Blue Penny Cellar. What a disappointment, the starters were ridiculous, the main course was reasonable, but the real let down was the service.
It took 45 minutes to get some ice, that was after three requests! Eventually, we were pouring our own wine as we'd essentially been abandoned.

When one is paying a premium, you expect corresponding quality and service, in the Blue Penny Cellar's case, it was easily the worst meal we had at the resort.

Dined at the Blue Penny Cellar during our recent family holiday. The service was excellent and the food was amazing - the best steak I have ever had. Not a great food choice for our 12yr old, however, the Chef cooked her an individual meal which was appreciated and also delicious. After our meal we were privileged to be given a guided tour by Tony of the vast wine cellars - I've never seen so many wine bottles in one place!! Amazing experience and would definitely recommend dining here.

Our experience dining at the Blue Penny Cellar was truly special. We were greeted by a smiling face and given a tour of the breathtaking wine cellar the restaurant has, which showcases such an impressive collection of fine wine from around the world. We were then taken to our table where we were seated and service immediately started. The service was extraordinary with the timings between courses being perfect and there always being an attentive waiter or waitress nearby. The food in the restaurant was world class, the flavours were tantalising for our taste buds, and the array of food was spectacular. As well as the food and service being impeccable, the atmosphere was also very elegant and it was very easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. In all, this meal was very special, and our family travel around the world tasting food from many different cultures and eating in the finest restaurants and it is fair to say that the Blue Penny Cellar was without a doubt our best restaurant experience in Mauritius and in the top 3 of our experiences from around the world. We would urge anyone visiting Mauritius to experience this oasis of culinary excellence.

I travel around the world on business very frequently and have eaten in some of the top restaurants in many major cities. The meal that myself and my family had last night was just exquisite and personally for me ranks very highly indeed. From the moment we walked through the door until we left the attention to detail was fantastic. Our sommelier advised us of the wine and we chose a very palatable Pinot Gris. The food was just the right amount of portion but more importantly it tasted amazing and looked stunning on the plate. After our desert we were fortunate enough to have the grand tour of the cellar by Tony the Sommelier and he gave us an insight into how the hotel manages the wine on resort for all its restaurants. There were over 22,000 bottles of some of the most delectable wines on offer. Certainly they catered for all palates. The Sous Chef Bishan attended our table at the end to discuss the food preparation and our choice of menu and for my wife who just loves her steaks the Cellar prepared in her own words the best steak she has ever had. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone either visiting the hotel or visiting the island to tray and get a table at this fine dining restaurant you will most certainly not be disappointed.
