Just returned from a short stay at the Le Meridien where we stayed at the Nirvana. The rooms are VERY dated and run down!! The linen and the towels are threadbare and at home I would only use these as rags. We got 1 (!) large bath towel each and a bath mat. That was it. We didn't even have hand towels and some of the ones we had during our stay were stained. The cleaning service was not very good either although we left a tip on the first day. Tea and coffee as well as toilet paper were not filled up. The breakfast at the La Faya restaurant, which is only for the Nirvana guests, is BAD. The choice is very limited and some of the staff were unattentive and unfriendly. With the way the food is presented one would think one is staying at a 3 star hotel. Most of the management staff at the Nirvana are unfriendly and not very helpful. Some of the entertainment at the bar is a joke.

Now to the good: the view and setting is very nice! The beach is nice in some and okay in other parts. You should wear shoes when you go swimming as the underground there is very rocky. The Indian restaurant is good with very tasty food. The chef there is great, very friendly and always smiling!

We will definitely not return.

Fantastic beautiful position close to or on the beach. The restaurants, the pools, the gym, everything you need for a really wonderful vacation. Mauritius is an interesting island where you meet friendly people always happy to help you!

It's the 4th time I stayed there with the kids for the end of year vacation, and as usual I was very amazed with the overall service. The restaurants are very good, and every night there is a different theme buffet for the dinner.The staff is very polite and helpful especially Artee who will make sure that we are well served during our breakfast,lunch and dinner. A big special thank also to Mr Sanjay the F&B Manager who was very kind to us.The kids also enjoy the different free activities on the sea and at the Kids club; and they were "Wow" to see some chocolates on their bed every night after they are back from dinner. Also the night entertainment- Live music and dance make our vacation even more interesting and funny.

First off, the staff is great and very nice. Unfortunately, this property has had some water damage and needs a refurbishment. We were spending our honeymoon in Mauritius and with SPG Platinum, were upgraded to a very spacious suite. However, the water damage in the main bathroom was evident and the power went out to our room or building and it took 30min before someone came by to fix it.

It rained the entire time we were there so we can't rate the beach or pool.

We highly recommend a visit to Mauritius,
Especially this hotel and it’s location, it’s on the west coast, so not really windy and the sea is so calm and lovely! Perfect for snorkelling!
The staff, facilities, location and food was amazing ! The themed nights are brilliant, two bookable restaurants, La Faya and Shells were amazing and the buffet restaurants, 180 and Cumin (Indian restaurant), are amazing, best food I’ve had in a while.
