We stayed at Pangkor Laut in April 2010 as part of our honeymoon. The resort was very scenic and full of wildlife including monitor lizards, hornbills, fruit bats, monkeys and lots of tropical fish.
We split the stay between a hill villa and sea villa, both of which were of a good standard, but the sea villa was extra special. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food was of a high standard, both in the selction and quality. Breakfast was very relaxed and there was plenty of interaction with the chefs as they prepared some food in front of you.
The free nature trail across the island was very informative and interesting. It led to the idyllic Emerald Bay which was perfect for a lazy afternoon on the beach.
There was nothing really to do in the evening after dinner, which suited us, apart from watching lightning storms around the island.

We stayed at Pangkor Laut for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. It surpaassed our expectations. It is a truly magical place with a stunning beach and impecible service. We stayed in the sea villas which were fantastic and I loved beautiful shower and bath overlooking the water. We didn't have a problem with mosquitos either as they are removed by a techniwue called "fogging" each day. The food was brilliant at all of the restuarants.. we especially loved The Straights. The little touches of flowers decortations throughout the resort, petal filled baths greeting us in our room at night and lovely staff which made the resort trully charming. Visiting the spa is an absoute must.. propably one the best experiences I've had!

Had been told by many friends that Pangkor Laut Resort was heaven on earth, but think by Asian standards the hotel has a bit to go before reaching Shangri-la. We took a package with Berjaya from Kuala Lumpur, staying for 2 nights in a Sea Villa, its was a relaxing break, but not quite what we expected after reading all the praise.

We went for a weekend with (unsurprisingly) hyped expectations - and this may be a case of picking holes in perfection... The resort is stunning, immaculate and beautifully laid out and the beach is possibly the nicest on the west coast of Malaysia. We stayed in a Hill Villa and the view over jungle and sea was epic. There were however a couple of flaws that we weren't expecting. First; we spent over an hour in our room waiting for our bags to be brought up from reception. Secondly - the Hill Villas are 'semi-detached' with paper thin walls - not ideal for a romantic weekend away - although that certainly didnt deter our neighbours! Thirdly, why not exchange the resort vans for noiseless electric buggies - (look at the Datai)? Pangkor Laut is stunning, service top notch, food great - but we left with niggling questions. Does is slightly lack soul? And.. for the price tag, we didnt expect to be waiting around for our bags to arrive at our room.

Stayed at the spa villa for 4 days just after new years.

Nothing better to lay at Emerald Bay and just enjoy the sun and beach.
Love the hammock on the beach, just swinging on it with my girlfriend.
Yoga class in the morning and a little jungle trekking with a guide.
So many choices of food with different restaurants on the resort.
Its a little pricy, but worth it!
Service is great, activities, and most importantly the food!
The buffet in the morning is almost perfect! So many choices and its all so tasty.

HIghly recommended!
