Very spacious rooms with a great view a little away from the city centre but located in a posh locality of Almaty. The breakfast was sumptuous and the room service menu was pretty elaborate and good would recommend this hotel.

Recently made a business trip to Almaty after 10 years. I noticed that the city has changed a lot in 10 years. I noticed many shopping malls and international class hotels popping up in every corner of the city. Royal Tulip Almaty is a luxury with marvels everywhere with many open spaces in public areas. The room is huge and it is well furnished. Breakfast quality was excellent and employees were friendly. In particular, I loved the hotel's sauna and fitness center which was of the world class. I would love to return to stay in the same hotel if and when I visit Almaty again.

Quality hotel with good views of the mountains. Nice pool and spa with really well equipped gym for a hotel.
Decent breakfast. Didn’t use the restaurant or bar but this looked a bit limited. However there are really good restaurants in the local area which obviously are set up for expats and wealthier locals. The city centre is only 15-20 minutes in a taxi (less if traffic is light) which offers good nights, and the base of the ski resort is close (15 minutes taxi) as well.

All in all a good hotel, worth the money and recommend.

This is a large attractively-build hotel with lots of marble. It all looked quite new. The main drawback for visitors wanting to do sight-seeing is that it's over 3km from the 1downtown area. We took a taxi one way but found that we could get a bus back.

Our room was large and fairly well-equipped with a good bathroom. We didn't find, unlike other reviewers, that it was too hot or too smelly, perhaps we were lucky. Breakfast was perhaps the best we got in 4 hotels in central asia. If you want a hotel in this area it seems a good choice, but we'd have preferred it if our tour company had found us one in the down-town area.

This is not a 5 star hotel. The service was very good, amenities in the rooms excellent, the pool area excellent, the rooms and bathrooms are huge, very clean and the bed is wonderful. However, there was a persistent smell coming from the shower, the vanity mirror was broken, breakfast did not have 5 star variety, the hotel is cavernous marble which means you hear everything. I was woken everyday with the cacophony of people closing their room doors and walking up and down the passage at early hours. The heating in the rooms cannot be adjusted unless you call someone to adjust it, it was at ridiculously high levels, so much so that even snowing outside I kept my balcony door open to let in some cool air. The hotel felt deserted at night, which really felt weird. Unlikely I will stay here again.
