Wandering the small streets near the traditional covered street Yugure Mall in central Ishigaki City with my daughter, we found this little bar/restaurant specializing in healthy Japanese curries with fresh local ingredients. The Tokyo couple who run it have brought their love of World Music, jazz-cafe decor, and culinary talents to add to the usual Ishigaki restaurant scene. Dinner curry sets were delicous and ranged from ¥900-1700. Real fruit lassis and a good bar selection went well with dinner, particularly the local awamori shochu (¥700/glass) recommended by the owner. Both vegetarian and vegan dishes were available, though we went with Ishigaki beef curries.

Having spent our first night walking around trying to find this restaurant, we were determined to find it on the second attempt and I am so glad we did. Its a quirky restaurant owned and run by a friendly married couple. Fortunately they have an English menu so we settled down and waited for our food. As the previous evening we had only eaten snacks from the local supermarket, I was looking forward to enjoying some fresh food and vegetables. This bar/restaurant combines the couples love for music, art and food in a contemporary setting and we loved the friendly warm atmosphere. Fortunately the food was delicious and I particularly enjoyed the fresh home made carrot sauce, now sold in bottles as well as the freshly made strawberry yoghurt drink. I'm unlikely ever to return to Ishigaki, but if I did, this we be the first restaurant I would head to. Highly recommended.

Ate here last night. Hard to find restaurants with vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Very glad to have found this. Food was really good and atmosphare laid back (bit hipster.) Made special cocktails with care and hosts are very friendly.

Like a few places on Ishigaki, can seem a bit unfriendly at first but the couple who work here are actually really nice. There's an English menu available with not many veggie options but anything's better than nothing! The food is lovely, curries come with crispy fried veg and rice. Beer on tap and in bottle and wine also available. We went back on our second night and were greeted like old friends ☺️

Called in, not much or any acknowledgment from the staff, ordered 2 beers which on the menu does not state the size of the drink, but given the cost expected a large beer.

But for two 1/2 pint glasses of local beer it was to 650yen each, which equates to £10 pint for local beer....., your having a laugh.

Felt the place was way to pretentious and perhaps we were not too cool enough to be there........we never went back and glad we did not order food at the same time as the drinks.
