This hotel is very convenient to downtown activities and sights. It was clean, very comfortable and affordable: nice! The staff was friendly and very helpful with information. When in Sasebo, this is a nice and convenient place to stay.

As most reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is conveniently located in back of Sasebo bus station and across the street from the train station, both offering taxi stands. It is within a comfortable walking distance from the main shopping center and eateries of he city. If you are an active person, the walk to the Sasebo Navy Base is a piece of cake, about 1.5 miles. The room was a typical Japan business style hotel, very very small and workable for one person. My room was around the corner and at the end from the elevator making it very quiet. The small TV offered programs only in Japanese, which I watched just to determine the weather. I had no issues with the FREE Wifi in the room; it was very fast. The lobby area was not as fast, but usable/ok. The receptionist were top notch and did their best to assist in all requests. The hotel also provided short-term luggage stowage which I took advantage of since I was not scheduled to leave the area until later in the day, several hours after check out. Not sure what the view is like for the other rooms, but my room overlooked the city's main street and a view of the bay between two buildings.

Located a 5 minute taxi ride from Sasebo's Navy Base, this hotel is right next to the bus line and across the street from the train terminal. It is also a nice walk from Sasebo's main shopping district. The room was small but had free Internet. The Internet services were almost unusable on my last day due to the speed. The bed was a bit hard for my tastes also. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This business traveller’s hotel is close to the train station and provides clean comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price. Beware that whilst the wifi is free it, is slow as most of it seems to run on the old ‘802.11g’ rather than the newer 802.11g’ standards/protocols. Those who a light sleepers may find the soundproofing lacking a bit however at the price you cant complain.

Room Tip: They will try to put you in smoking rooms, if you do not make it clear at check in

The Sasebo Washington Hotel is very centrally located in the heart of Sasebo. It's just across the street van the JR-railway station and more or less beside the local and the long-distance bus stations. Quite close, too, to good restaurants, and a short walk will take you to a km-long shopping arcade. In about 15 minutes you can walk to several fine parks.
I stayed at this hotel for seven nights and basically used it as a point for traveling this area.
The reception area is spacious; reception his very efficient, quick and friendly. Lifts are fast. The rooms are Japanese standad (relatively small) but sound-proof and they have everything yu might need including TV and radio. Very good writing desk with lots of light; good drapes for keeping out light at night (and even during the day). The WiFi is all right but rather spotty at night and not very 'strong'.
Bathroom, too, is Japanese standard with good, deep bath and shower; everything you might need incl. hair-dryer and daily refreshment of toothbrushes, combs etc. Good hot, strong water!
The two restaurants are both up-scale. One is a fine dining place with excellent menus; the other is the breakfast restaurant: breakfasts are full Japanese en Very Good!
This is indeed a fine place to stay!

Room Tip: It seems to me all rooms are good.
