Was expecting this to be one of the highlights of my trip, as I loved street food. I visited the yatai on the small island near the Nakasu-kawabata metro stop; there were about twenty clustered at the far end of the island from the station. Most of the stores had similar offerings: ramen, yakitori, and some other assorted dishes. But food quality itself isn't fantastic. The yatai themselves were small "huts" with very cramped seating, which I actually didn't mind because it fit the atmosphere, but also gave lots of pressure on the people manning the yatai to keep track of orders properly. Overall, I would recommend visiting the place once, but more for the atmosphere and novelty of it rather than the food itself.
