A bit outdated and situated in a location that's far from almost everything, even a convenience store. The closest one was almost half a kilo away from the hotel. I wanted to try out some gyoza (dumplings) which Utsunomiya is really famous for. I picked this hotel given the former ratings and pictures on the website. They're no different than the real room; however, given the fact that it's outdated; they need to start thinking about renovating rooms.

Breakfast was nice with a variety of options to choose from. Overall, good value for money, but if you're traveling without a care, you'll be stuck in the hotel and not much to do.

I stayed in a double room. Overall, clean but the bed was a bit too stiff.

Good hotel for business travellers with spacious and clean rooms.
The western breakfast is rather poor with only toast and marmelade and below average drip coffee.
Overall, good value for money.
The Chinese restaurant is (not cheap, but) excellent.

The hotel rooms are ok, but a bit dated. The traditional Japanese restaurant on the ground floor is nice. They will catch fish from the pond to serve you. The Big Ben bar on the top floor is a nice place for scotch--lots of dark wood and leather couches all around. The tepanyaki restaurant on the top floor is excellent. The Italian restaurant where they serve a western style breakfast buffet in the morning is average.
