Group of 4 spent one night here before our flight back as it is close to Chitose Airport.

We booked room with private onsen and view. Food, service, room, view exceed my expectation.

Room charge is expensive but it worth the money considering its food, service, view and room size as compare with other high end onsen hotel in Otaru.

The lake view is so great that attract us to go for a short walk around the lake in next day morning. I will definitely visit here again.

We drove here but hotel has shuttle bus to JR station.

We stayed here 2-3March in the Deluxe Twin Room.
Breakfast was prepared for individual tables with a semi buffet for sides and drinks. Ambience of the restaurant is enjoyable with its serene, zen setting. Rooms are very clean and new. Bathroom and bedroom is partitioned with a huge glass window that can be blocked with a roller blind. Clean modern Japanese setting. Onsen is very clean and outdoor Onsen (a snowing winter whilst we were there) was overlooked by snowy surroundings. Truly an experience out in the snow. There should be free ample parking here.

A 5-star charge onsen hotel with 3-star services, food and facilities. Maybe great for Japanese onsen hotel first timer without budget constraint, but would recommend those who are looking for something top notch elsewhere.

We stayed for one night in mid April in a twin room with a private outdoor onsen. We experienced excellent service from our arrival to departure.
The Hotel shuttle picked us up at the JR Chitose train station. They pick you up at right below the train station at the first floor exit by the taxi pickup. There are no signs in english that designate the hotel shuttle pickup area. It's about a 30 minute ride to the hotel.
The hotel is a little "dated" with metal room keys and no wifi but it's very serene and relaxing, Checkin was wonderful with an english speaking kimono clad receptionist who explained everything to us as we sipped tea and sat on the comfortable couches facing the wonderful view of Lake Shikotsu.
The room was very clean and functional. Our private outdoor onsen was outstanding. We enjoyed it before and after dinner and breakfast. We were very lucky that it snowed the morning of our stay. Lounging in the warm spring water and sipping a beer while it is snowing is an experience not to be missed.
Our kaiseki dinner and breakfast were outstanding. The food and service are among the best we've ever had. Our server (I think her name was Ms. Motoko Sakai) was sweet and accommodating.
The hotel shuttle returned us to the Chitose train station the next morning after our all too short stay.

The guests were all Japanese so this could be a foreign find if you are open to new experience. English is a little bit of a struggle but it lends to part of the charm. I would suggest that food and uniqueness is enough of an adventure.

Arranging to catch the 2pm shuttle from the JR Chitose terminal will save a $70 cab fare. The bus had 3 other Japanese couples none of whom had luggage. The rooms have toothbrushes, robes and sandals and everyone spends their entire time in their robes - the meals, the lounge, the bar - everything. It seems that everyone is treated the same. One with the land and one in the natural hot springs. There are no bathing suits and the public baths are divided by gender.

The sashimi was the best I have had anywhere. There was an extra charge of $20 per person but it was well worth it.
