This is a fairly small and slightly modernized ryokan and close to Hirayu Onsen bus terminal.

Private bath is available, just grab the keys from reception but the water is not warm enough in my opinion.

The old lady at reception is very friendly and courteous but she does not speak a single English word. If you need to communicate, I will strongly recommend you to use GOOGLE TRANSLATE.

Eateries is quite limited, there is a CAFÉ MUSTACHE nearby the ryokan to have a casual meal. Or else you will have to dine in other ryokans.

Room is big and clean with ensuite bathroom and toilet.

Futon bed could be a little bit on soft side for side sleeper, so you may feel like you are sleeping on hard floor. Anyway, it's a good experience and comfortable stay.

Room tip: Use google translate to communicate with the staff

We stayed here for 2 nights while traveling through Japan in April. The location was great being only an hour bus ride from Takayama Station and we were able to take bus to do some sightseeing during our stay as well. The host was expecting our arrival and was waiting for us when we entered and was readily available throughout our time there. The rooms are big and clean with large windows to open up and view the mountains. It was still snowing during our stay but the futons were warm and the room well heated. There are 4 onsen baths; 2 private, 1 male, 1 female. There were only a few other guests at the time so we were able to use freely. Breakfast and dinner are both large meals served promptly and were both flavorful and seasonal. 10/10 would recommend.

We had a pleasant one night stay at this ryokan in Hirayu. It felt a little less traditional than others we'd stayed in with its elevator and polished floors, but was definitely a nice place to stay. The outdoor onsen was relaxing with a very tiny courtyard with a cherry tree. The room was large and had a nice view and a private bathroom. We were annoyed with how loud it was from the hallway but I guess that really depends on the other guests who are staying on your floor at the same time as you.

This is a tradition Japanese style hotel seems run by a small family. The room is clean but a bit dated. No air conditioner in room but is ok for nice weather around 20 degree celsius in Jun. There's two outdoor private baths but it's very small in bath size, so I suggest to use the public one.

The hotel is located along the road so it's a bit noisy when cars going thro' at night. Convenient if you are planning to visit Kamikochi as the bus station is just a minute walk. Staff don't speak English but no worry as there's simple note in English about the hotel facilities and dinner provided.

We stayed here on a weekday in the last week of November.
Our car was the only car in the parking lo since there was no one else staying here.
The lobby was simple and nice. The staffs were friendly and helpful.
Our room was a bit dated, but it was big, clean and quiet. Bathroom and toilet are separate.
There were "yukatas" (bath ropes) and towels in the closet but the bathroom amenities were not provided in the room.
The dinner was provided in our room and it was very good.

The large bathroom and hot spring was on the first floor. You can find all the bathroom amenities and lockers here.
It was very relaxing and I think it would be perfect if the water were hotter.
