If you are looking for proximity to the Vic Falls, this is the hotel to stay in. There is a path directly from the hotel to the falls. There is no restriction on access so you can go as many times as you wish during your stay. The hotel room is compact with no space wasted on unused areas and would best be described as basic. The restaurant is adequate with a variety of choices of meals. The activity centre nearby offers a host of activities including Segway tours which was a fun way of exploring the resort. At dusk, zebra's came to browse on the lawn

this hotel was more chalet-like, tons of families staying there. i would prefer staying at the royal livingstone hotel - zambezi sun's sister hotel. zambezi sun has a good restaurant serving pastas,steak.. within walking distance, but if you are staying at royal livingstone, you can ask for a free transfer to the restaurant too. zambezi sun is probably better for families - large swimming pool available. breakfast is not too great although there is a lot of choice available. rooms are decently-sized, with a tv as well. shower was weak but warm water available. if you dont mind spending a bit more, i'd suggest staying at royal livingstone - a 5 star hotel. much better service there.

Internet images can indeed be misleading..... On the web it shows the Royal Livingstone a much more posh place is right on the edge of the falls!! Nor totally correct from the Restaurant on a clear day you can see the mist. To see the falls you have to come to the Zambezi Sun
Warm welcoming place. Very neat.
Front office staff are exceptional very Efficient. Activities arranged are very professionally managed and handled worth a commendation
Rooms are neat, compact and very presentable, however rooms are small not enough sPace to juggle around with
Staff at the pool restaurant need some work very slow
But the pool is great
Compared to Royal Livingstone I would stay time n again at the Zambezi sun

My husband and I just spent three nights at the Zambezi Sun and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our package included round trip flights Johannesburg - Livingstone, transfers, room, breakfast, and dinner, and a slightly mysterious 'nature walk' that seemed to be a marketing scheme by Sun International to make certain we knew what they were about: preserving the environment, training locals for tourism jobs, producing local and organic food, and so forth. We didn't mind; the guide was charming and informed and he gave us an invitation to High Tea at the Royal Livingstone next door. The tea was good and we enjoyed walking along the trails between the too properties.
Both hotels are within the boundaries of the national game park in Zambia that's adjacent to Victoria Falls which means that not only are the falls a short walk away but you get glimpses of the Zambesi River from the trails behind the buildings and the porch of the Royal Livingstone.
Our standard room at the Zambesi Sun was small but comfortable and well appointed. Meals, served buffet style in the indoor/outdoor dining room were tasty and varied; lots of choices, and different choices each day. Snacks and drinks are served at the Pool Bar, and the serpentine pool was fine for a quick dip for relief from the January (summer) heat.
There are plenty of activities to choose from (at extra cost), tame to adventuresome. We elected just to focus on our first views of the falls and on resting after the long plane ride from the U.S to southern Africa.

Great location but service not crash hot and quite expensive. Food was very average in quality and I expect better in a 4 star place. Very child friendly. If you don't want kids around then stay away! The bed was very comfortable even if the room was on the small side. Great selection of activities on this side of the border.
