“suffering under the euro!!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

took the catamaran from marmaris to rhodes, 50 minutes so very quick, didnt take the island tour as all the seats were booked so walked from the port to the castle, approx 5 mins, the bars and restaurants inside the castle are plentiful with staff desperate to get you in (just doing their job i know) but the prices were so expensive compared to the restaurants in turkey, i thought whilst in greece have a greek salad that cost me £8 and then a drink, the wonderful little shops have very friendly owners and staff and i picked up a wonderful oil painting canvas that just needs framing as a souvenir, you can exchange money for euros as the shops only accept euros so get your euros before you travel or keep some English money to change, the small churches inside and outside the castle are beautiful and serene, take a few minutes to visit them, there are many boat trips that you can take but i wasn`t there long enough to partake in one, 5 hours on rhodes island was long enough for me to visit the castle and churches and to stroll around, perhaps visitors would experience more by taking the island tour so when you`re on the catamaran and the guy makes the announcement that hes taking bookings then get in quick because there`s only 1 coach available

“My favourite Greek Island!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2012

I am a big Rhodes fan and would recommend the 6 hours you spend here. Dont do the coach trip once you are there but see it for yourself on foot. Go to the old town square for food where its reasonably priced or it will cost you a lot elsewhere. Buy a Giros Pitta they are yummy. Then stroll through the cobbled streets up towards the Knights of St Johns Palace. You can shop till you drop on the way and don't forget its Euro here not Lira. The catamaran from Marmaris to Rhodes takes about an hour. Enjoy!
