We just got home last night. The hotel itself is newly renovated, good looking and very fresh. If the review was only about the looks of the hotel, we would give it a 5!
The staff was also superfriendly.
But why don't we tell you about what we didn't like as well. Last year we went to Turkey and that time we stayed in Side which was also a 5-star hotel so we'll do a comparison between them.

First of all the mini bar in our room didn't work, when we told the staff about it they just told us that's "normal" for a mini bar. So we drank warm water.
We also didn't have real bed covers which we are used to while staying in hotels. We only had ruff blankets that were as uncomfortable as the bed.
All of the towels, bed spreads etc. had spots on them. They were cleaned, yes, but they still had spots from when other guests had used them. None of these things bothered us very much, but still, it's worth bringing up.

The all inclusive concept is not what we would call all inclusive. If you want real water bottles you have to pay extra for this (at our last 5-star all incl. in Turkey, we didn't have to pay, this was of course included). You have to pay extra for ice cream, and the ice cream man screams out "ice cream" all day long at the pool which can get kind of annoying after a couple of days.

The food at the hotel was ok, not great, not bad. You won't go hungry.

And then we have the famous sun beds that almost everyone else here has written about... Everything you read is true! People actually get up at 6 in the morning to get sun beds. You will have to do this to if you want a place around the pool. We learned this after the first day, and even though the hotel has put up signs about the guests not being allowed to put out towels before 8, many people still do. At 8 all the sunbeds are taken, just a warning!
To get up at 6 in the morning on your vacation is not our idea of a great vacation...

The beach then... Wow... On our last holiday in Side, Turkey, we had this fabolous sandy beach where we could order drinks right at the beach (all inclusive). Blue bay platinum also have its own beach that is constantly crowded with annoying salesmen trying to get you to buy things. Ok, should you get thirsty there are salesmen selling soda, water and so on, but for us that was on an all inclusive trip where drinks are supposed to be free, this was just disturbing to listen to.
We actually brought our own drinks straight from the hotel thats very close by, but when we did this, one of the salesmen got angry with us and said that it would interfere with his sales...
The beach itself was the most dirty, ugly, disgusting beach I'd ever seen. Plastic bags in the sea (where we tried snorkeling but got so disgusted we immediately stopped), cigarette ends everywhere you go, and worn-down sunbeds that never were cleaned by the hotel staff.

Despite all this, we had a great vacation and a nice time there. We do not want to scare off, but just say our opinion about the hotel, and we recommend this hotel after all. Marmaris is a great and beautiful city and we recommend the boat trip (costs 25-30 Turkish money) with clear blue water.

Great hotel, great facilities, great food, sevice minded staff. But none of this can compensate for the hotel being overbooked. People and noise everywhere. Nowhere to really relax. Not coming back.
Also, be aware that the nearby beach's water is rather poluted, nothing to snorkle for.

Wonderful accomodation, friendly proffesional staff, spotlessly clean, lovely food and a great entertainment team to boot! The downside as there always is one,the 'pull the ladder up'brigade(some of which have reviewed on here about the problem but, through their own short sightedness, fail to see they are the self centred people who are actually causing the problem) who arise at 5 a.m to reserve the sunbeds.THERE IS NO NEED as the complex have now purchased extra beds and go to great lengths to ensure you can get one even at 11a.m as we did and have these beds put anywhere round the pool that you desire(much to the dismay of the afformentioned brigade). You've worked hard all year for this holiday, you deserve a lay in.not to get up at the dead of dawn for something you don't need to.

Rant over.

Seriously folks book in here and your jaws will literally drop on arrival as ours did,Its absolutely fantastic.Make a point of dropping into the sweet corner restaraunt opposite at least once on your holiday for the best steak in Marmaris.Just save a room for me next year!!

I went with my family to this hotel last August just before the refurbishment. We had an amazing time. All the staff were very friendly, the food was a buffet with plenty of selection even for the most fussy of eaters (we had 2 teenagers and a toddler). Entertainment throughout the day was ok, sometimes we joined in. The apartment we had was clean and tidy, there was a very large balcony with an amazing view of the sea and pool. There were 2 swiming pools, these were both clean but one of the toddler pools was under a tree which dropped leaves in but this wasn't really a problem. The hotel is in a really great location on the main road of marmaris near bars and close to the beach. Evening entertainment was ok, singers, kareoke, bingo etc which all ended at 11pm so after this it was all quiet. We had a great time here and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we were to come back to Marmaris
