This a very pleasant place to stay. Accommodation is simple but perfectly adequate and well cleaned, bar and restaurant are of a good standard and reasonably priced and Customer service is excellent on all accounts. We were there when the previous Travel company went bust so that did impact a little towards he end. Steve the rep was as helpful as he could have been in the situation so it would be good if he could remain involved with the staff. You do need to be both agile and fit as there are a lot of steps to negotiate particularly if you want to go the seafront. There is also no beach, but the sea is very pleasant to swim in. All in all this should not detract from the experience once you are there which will be good, Just make sure you are aware of what you need to be able to do on site. We would recommend to others and enjoyed our stay

Room Tip: Near the pool and reception area for less steps may help some.

I have not written a review previously as I selfishly wanted to keep the lighthouse a secret so I could always book in when I wanted to. Having just read the previous review, I had no idea that EE have ceased trading and am devastated for all concerned. We will come back and will not allow troubles, predominantly in the border areas, to stop supporting the wonderful team, who, for many years have worked tirelessly to build a successful and wonderful hotel. I am more concerned, about potential terror acts, travelling to London via the main hubs (several times a week) or even just walking in the West End than in the beautiful region surrounding Kas. Whilst I can no longer wax lyrical about the service provided by Exclusive, I am sure that Gill, Ozan, Stephen, Shahin, Emin ,Salih and the whole team will continue to provide the most perfect hospitality in one of the most perfect hotels we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. This year, we brought friends, who also described it as perfection. We normally stay in the stunning waterfront suites but this year booked one of the new pool suites. Glorious. We will contact Gill directly regarding rebooking and I hope EE can start afresh when conditions allow. Welcoming, tranquil but also great great fun if you do want to stay in the bar a little later in to the evening. Good luck to you all and we look forward to coming back.

Following the demise of Exclusive Escapes many of their clients were left facing the prospect of rearranging holiday plans at short notice and seeking out last minute flights. Despite this, and the fact that everyone was substantially out of pocket, it’s broad testament to the attraction of the Feneri Deniz Lighthouse that many did indeed stump up the extra cash and continued with their holiday plans. My wife and I were one such couple and frankly we are delighted that we did.

As previous EE customers we had already experienced the quality and care the company were renowned for on a number of occasions. ‘The Lighthouse’ had been recommended by several people and what a treat it turned out to be.

Positioned close to the western tip of the Kas peninsular it commands a spectacular view in all directions. As others have already mentioned, it rambles from a hilltop down to the sea so there are lots of steps to deal with but the upside is that almost every room and public area are afforded some really lovely panoramas.

The rooms are crisp, cool and spotless. We had the Pool House, which is right next to the main hotel and absolutely fabulous. The whole of the hotel is clean and well cared for. The waterfront area is rocky with but lots of platforms, loungers and umbrellas as well as a small jetty with ladder access into the sea. The Waterfront bar has a real, shabby chic, Robinson Crusoe feel, where guest can enjoy a lazy, simple lunch; listening to the sea and watching Turtles bask on the surface just offshore.

The owners Gillian and Ozan are always on hand to provide personal attention to detail. Many previous clients will also be delighted to learn that Stephen, the former EE rep and a gentleman with an apparently great reputation, remains at the hotel.

The Terrace Restaurant and bar, where breakfast and dinner are served, overlooks the large pool area and the terracotta rooftops of part of the hotel. After a challenging day on the waterfront, or by the pool, it was a great place to unwind with a sunset cocktail. The food is delicious, plentiful and there is a wide variety.

Price wise for food and drink expect to pay a similar amount that you might be looking at in a Gastro pub at home, not cheap but not grievously expensive either. As I write the house wine is £12-£14 per bottle and a 50cl beer is £3.25. Everything is put on the room and you get a receipt at the end of each evening as well as twice weekly updates in the form of a statement.

For variation Kas is a ten minute, 25TL, taxi ride or there is a courtesy bus several times a day. With its web of old streets and a huge range of shops, bars and restaurants it has lots to offer.

One thing that I found really makes the lighthouse is the other guests, many of whom have returned over and over. There always seems to be a quiet, polite atmosphere. Some have commented in their reviews that the staff are reserved. I don’t agree, I feel they initially hit the right pitch between being attentive but not over familiar. From then on they allow the customer to lead, if you want to chat they will but if you just want your own space they respect that too. If you are looking for something that is, shall we say a bit ‘Una Paloma Blanca,’ and want to swig cheap beer from large jugs while your friends applaud and shout loud encouragement then the Feneri Deniz Lighthouse is DEFINITELY not for you. If you are looking for a base of tranquility it’s a serious contender for your list of future destinations.

A final word about Exclusive Escapes. It’s always very sad when such a reputable company goes under. Some of us have had the irksome task of rearranging our holidays but that’s nothing when you remember so many people will have lost their employment and their livelihoods. I just want to say to everyone who worked for Exclusive Escapes, and their associate hotels and Gulets, a big thank you for so many smashing holiday memories, you were one great team!

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues remember there are literally hundreds of steps and no lifts etc.

This place, although being a hotel, knows all about what it 'actually means' to be able to get away with and deliver it almost better than any self catering alternative. - and to 'escape' and feel like you are the only people in the world concerned whilst doing it there, - also, without it ever needing to feel like you are actually 'on holiday' either. There is a just magic atmosphere that is just its own, within the place, and people within it all that mean... frankly 'any kind of holiday' this place delivers.
Perfect for honeymoons - and families and groups alike without anyone ever knowing. To do that anywhere, This is an eight star rated place in my book

Room Tip: It doesn't matter at all where your rooms are it is the experience. (we were at the very top of the cliff!)

Stayed here for two weeks with my wife and son aged ten and we had a great time. We took The Pool House which is very close to the main bar and restaurant, which is important if you don't like too many steps as many of the rooms are situated at the top of the hillside. The Pool House is the original one and two further houses have recently been added but I preferred this one, there is a good sized sitting room upstairs and two reasonably sized bedrooms downstairs, with one en suite and a small library room.

The hotel also offers a large communal swimming pool and plenty of sun loungers both at the pool and down on the seafront where there is also a second restaurant and bar serving good quality food for lunch and dinner. My son, fell in love with the owner, Gillian's two dogs, Monty and Bella who were very sweet things.

The town of Kas is a short 10mins drive away either by hotel shuttle bus or taxi 25TL
where there is a boho feel and lots of great places to eat.

We will be back!

Room Tip: Any of the front line houses, the original Pool House is closest to hotel
