The hotel is fundamentally ok. It's clean (ish), although the cleaners just make the bed every day and don't do much else, but that's ok because we aren't slobs. Food is plentiful and of fairly good quality. The bars are odd. We went in October so the hotel wasn't too busy. The pool bar is small, and closes if it rains, when one of the other bars indoors opens (but is not open at any other time). The pool bar also closes during the evening meal time, when you have to get drinks from the restaurant, although the door between the pool and restaurant is locked during this time, so you need to go up stairs, into the building on the next floor, and back down stairs again to the restaurant...it was almost like they didn't want us to make use of the all inclusive drinks! Also, there were a lot of drinks that weren't included (anything from the lobby bar, cocktails and lots of spirits that have always been included in other hotels we've stayed at).
Some of the staff were a little on the serious side, but were fine with us because we were chatty to them. To be fair, most of the guests were pig ignorant and rude, so the staff attitude is understandable. Animation entertainment was lame, one guy running round all day helping out, running the disco, performing a fire show, standing on broken glass, musical chairs etc. - he was a legend. Two girls in the team just turned up for meals and did nothing much else!
We had a lovely holiday, but we aren't too fussy. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
