“Great for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 January 2012

Extremely hard working staff in every area of the hotel. We had the same cleaning lady every day who was very friendly and would always leave little gifts for our son. The UK run kids club was great and took wonderful care of our son who broke his collar bone shortly after arrival. And we were well taken care of by our rep who ensured that we weren't ripped off by doctors charges etc. The animation team worked almost non stop to ensure that everyone young and Los had a good time.
The daily food buffet was good and despite some complaints from fellow Brits, there was a lot of choice. Local wines and lagers were quite nice also.
There was a lot to do around the hotel, many pools, archery, crazy golf. Lots of water slides led into a salt water pool which I didn't like. The beach at the hotel wasn't great, very narrow and a bit grubby so we didn't spend much time there.
All in all though a good place for families.

We left Cardiff airport for Enfidah airport in Tunisia (which is stunning and makes many airports around the world look like flee pits).
There was a 50 minute transfer to the hotel. We chose the taxi option. You get driven in an MPV for this instead of a coach.
MPV transfer = £36.00 for all of us instead of £100.00 for the coach. A no brainer really!

We stayed at the Caribbean World Hotel at Monistir on the 19th October for a week.
We read some of the comments regarding the hotel and thought "oh my what have we let ourselves in for here"! . . .
How wrong could we have been. We all loved it and had a great time.
Every one tried really hard to make us feel welcome. The facilities were very good. The pools were excellent what with the water slides etc.
Our two daughters aged 6 and 3 never complained of boredom during the whole stay.
The food was very good indeed. Grilled fresh fish, chicken, beef, traditional Tunisian dishes, pancakes, omelettes', salads etc.
For a weeks stay it was a good selection. Two weeks and it probably would become a bit repetitive. But none the less excellent.
The hotel was quite funky looking (especially the lobby) and like most it could do with a lick of paint here and there . . . but nothing to complain about.

Our first choice rep Kirsty was very good and there were some organised excursions available to us and all very reasonably priced. My wife and I are itching to
do the Sahara trip one day. So we would return to do that in the near future.
The animation team were fun and friendly. The children enjoyed the shows however surreal they seemed to be at times. But still good fun.

To be honest we did not see a miserable face the whole time we were there. People were cleaning early in the morning and the hotel was spick and span, the beach which is lovely was cleaned every morning too!.
The exchange rate the day we departed was 2.198 Dinar to the British £pound. Great if you are on a budget as you get so much for your money. Unlike most of Europe right now.
Tunisian tourism has taken a knock recently because of the uprising. But every one seemed to be very up beat and looking to the future as we were there during the elections.
We are quite choosey like most parents where we holiday with our children. When out and about you use your common sense. But very glad we went on this holiday.

So much so we would like to return again soon.

Where do I start? After reading reviews on here was a little bit worried about the food etc. How wrong could I have been, apart from the fact that after 5 days the food did get a little repetitive it was absolutely delicious :-) From the fresh omelettes & pancakes for breakfast to the cooked to order King Prawns or homemade flat bread it was all just yummy. We found ALL the staff to be brilliant & couldn't be more helpful. And the cleaning staff worked very hard to keep everywhere as clean as possible, we loved watching the very well behaved horse walking on the beach every morning to pull the cart that collected all the seaweed that had landed on the beach over night, then there was the man that cleaned the swimming pool every day for only a few people using the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone & would definitely go back!

Absolutely brilliant time, all the staff were friendly and helpful, no problems and were very child friendly. There was much to do at the hotel. The hotel was on the beach and there was sufficient sunbeds, even if the Germans did put their towels out at 6am. The room was very nice, looked straight out onto the beach. Food was good, you have to remember you are in Tunisia and they try to cater for all nations. They also run 5 different restaurants, chinese etc. Two day sahara trip was absolutely thrilling and so informative a must. The pirate boat day trip was also very good.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view - breath taking,
