We stayed in one of the bungalows which had its own private pool. The staff are excellent and most accommodating without being 'in your face'. The choice of restaurants was excellent and as for the Spa absolutely nothing to compare in my travels so far. I cannot wait to return

Stayed at the pool villa for 3 nights. The layout of the resort is really great. There are quite a lot of villas and people but you wouldn't notice when you are staying there. There is actually a buggy service to get you around the place.

The villa itself was ultra comfortable and really luxurious. They have different aroma therapy infusions for different days and the entire atmosphere makes you just want to stay in your villa all the time. The pool was clean and a decent size.

The breakfast spread is really good. Didn't eat any of our other meals at the resort so cant comment on the food at the restaurants.

The Spa is really nice and they have a lot of therapies to choose from. It is a bit expensive but I guess that is to be expected. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The most important thing last, the bed. I have no idea where they got the mattress from or what it is made off but it is practically impossible to get out of bed in the morning. It feels like the best thing to do is spend the whole day in the bed. It makes you really lazy. Which is sad because Phuket really has a lot of nice things to see and do.

A great experience overall and will definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed our pool villa for about a week. The breakfast is great but the dinner buffet is just average with its high price. The annoying part of dining in open restaurants was flies and bugs flying around the table.

Spa is great but pricy.

The room is great but the mattress is too soft to support the back. The mosquitoes problem was really annoying here. Though we closed doors all the time, they were still hiding somewhere in the room.

During our stay, there were problems with our air conditioner. The staff said it’s due to the power system or whatever. It happened twice a day. One happened in the afternoon and one happened from 8:30PM till 10:30PM. Without air conditioning is a big issue staying in Thailand. It’s really hot in the room. They cannot fix the problem right away and asked us to wait till it cooled down.

I stayed at different villas several time. I think the overall service of Banyan Tree is great but the property shows its age.

Room Tip: Choose the pool villa. The private beach is greater than Patong.

This is the second +/- 10 day stay in a two bedroom deluxe Pool Villa in 2 years. The Banyan Tree is still a good benchmark when it comes to balancing the best possible 5 star boutique hotel traits with the advantages of a large chained resort group. The service commitment to the customer is at the upper end in the 5 star resort segment, the staff does a very good job in fulfilling the high expectations. Of course there are always minor glitches, but they do not make an impact.

Ensure that you get the latest built villas, there are differences! The air-conditioning needs to be improved / monitored (auto mode), at night one may alternately sweat / freeze due to the positioning of thermostat and consequential commands to the ventilation. In such conditions it is easy to catch a cold.

Staff needs training on how to manage and restrain the lords from the BRIC (Brazil was absent) countries. If a dress code is clearly recommended, then diaper toddlers, flip flop dads in gym wear + LV pouch (classy look) and high volume gamming Ipad kids should be off limits. Spitting, slurping, loud snorting and conversations at a shouting volume may be appropriate at home, but not next to me at the BT. Culture is not an excuse; these mannerisms are not acceptable in any of the BRIC country cultures.

If you get the right villa, which should be no problem, the BT would be my choice in Phuket. Again, solid upper end 5 star operation.

Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff are so friendly & welcoming. Stayed for a week in a pool villa (305) absolute bliss.
Spa is fantastic! Ask for Kika, Berry or Winny to do your treatment, they are the best of the best!!
Food ok. Main restaurant has a buffet every night. Tamarind is the spa restaurant, nice light food, limited menu & quiet location. Saffron, the Thai restaurant has good food, but an uninspiring location. Eat Thai food at Dusit Laguna hotel - fantastic in every respect!!!
Will definitely stay here again!
