Traveled to Phuket from Singapore with my mother and my 5 year old daughter. The villa owner had arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport, who was indeed waiting for us, which was great. After about half an hour drive from the airport we arrived at the villa, which is located in a group of villa's built on the Loch Palm golf course. There is a management office, managing these villa's almost right in front of the villa and the staff there were very friendly and helpful and got us sorted very quickly. The villa looked amazing and especially the pool, which is dark blue, instead of the usual light blue colour, looked very appealing (which proved correct, couldn't drag my daughter out of it during our stay). Villa was built up across 3 buildings, one the large living room and kitchen, with all comforts we needed (tv, dvd, stereo, fully equipped kitchen, large dining table etc) and another with 2 bedrooms and a third building with the largest master bedroom (all with own private bathroom). Rooms were very spacious, beautiful wooden floors, nice large beds and hotel style bathrooms. Vill and our stay there was perfect. We also were able to rent a car via Pisit, owner of a small taxi company and long time service provider for the villa's and management office, very reasonable pricing, fully insured and delivered to the front door. We spent most of our time in the villa to relax and swim, but did some trips to some of the beaches and towns around, all easy to reach by car of taxi. We went for breakfast a few times at the Loch Palm or Red Mountain clubhouse close by, which was very nice and affordable. We also ordered from Loch Palm twice for lunch, they deliver to the door with a golf buggy, good affordable food as well. There was a document with recommendations in the villa for food, sightseeing and activities, very helpful, we tried a few of them as well.

This beautiful Villa in the grounds of Loch Palm and Red Mountain Golf Resorts was our home for 2 wonderful weeks in Phuket.
From the moment we contacted the owner, Herriot, he was a pleasure to deal with and ensured the booking and organisation for our trip was painless and straightforward. Herriot goes out his way to ensure all your requests and questions are answered and everything is in place to enjoy your break.
We were met at the airport by our driver, who switfly took us on the 25-30 min journey to the villa. It is located just within the impressive entrance to the Loch Palm and Red Mountain golf courses. We arrived in the evening, so were shown around the property by the resident security team. Those guys were great and did anything they could to help us, and insisted on going out and bringing us food and drinks when we asked if there was a local place nearby we could get a takeaway on the first night! We spent an enjoyable first night settling into our amazing surroundings and enjoying the Thai food and Leo beer!
The villa is just fantastic. Situated in a quite residential area, alongside the offices for the loch palm management. There is plenty parking, and is very secure (not that I would ever feel it was required, always felt safe and relaxed in Phuket). There is a main door and side door entrance to the beautiful gardens and courtyard. There are 3 buildings, the main living area, the large master bedroom building (with huge bathroom) and another building with 2 stunning separate bedrooms. The living area has large sitting area, dining area and fab kitchen. There is a laundry room should you need it (but I'd recommend using the local laundry service). The TV has plenty channels and there is a DVD system with lots of films to watch. All the rooms have top notch air conditioning and ceiling fans. The decor is super high spec, and basically you will be living in luxurious surroundings during your stay. The garden is a wonderful, chilled out, relaxing area, with sun lounger, a table and chairs and a fantastic swimming pool, big enough to have a proper swim and very nice touch is the underwater disco lights that come on in the evening! The whole villa is looked after by the gardening, cleaning and office staff, who will make sure everything is taken care of.
We chose this place as a base for our exploring, as the villa is set in a quiet area in the heart of the island of Phuket, however there are still a few things on your doorstep worth knowing about. The golf courses both have stunning clubhouses and restaurants, walking distance from villa. Not the cheapest place to eat and drink, but a nice place to go for breakfast and lunch. If you are playing golf it isn't cheap if you are hiring everything but you are sure to enjoy the experience. Leaving the golf course entrance and turning right will take you to a 7-11 convenience store, some shops and 2 bars, Blue Iguana and Grizzly's. A warm welcome was received in both ex-pat bars. Iguana does a mean Sunday roast and Grizzly's imports Guiness and Brains on draft for those looking for a taste of home. However, the place you must visit nearby is the brilliant CaddyShack! Only a few paces from the entrance to Loch Palm, Owners Steve & Justin, along with bar staff Tan and Pui made us feel at home instantly. Tan's mother cooks up amazing authentic Thai cuisine in the kitchen, as well as mastering some other dishes from around the world. All major sports from around the world can be watched on 3 different screens, and there was a brand new pool table. A great place to relax where I met genuine friends for life, that made our holiday even more perfect in many ways.
The madness and fun of Patong is a 400 baht taxi/tuk tuk away, and is a brilliant place (although returning to the tranquility of loch palm was a welcome relief sometimes!) Phuket Town and the beach resorts for Kata and Karon are a 500 baht taxi ride. One of the best recommendations I can give will be to keep in contact with Pisit, a local lad whom Herriot will put you in contact with. He can provide Taxi, tours, bikes and in general loads of advice. He is a gentleman and a fantastic person to know.
I can't wait to return, as I found the villa to be the perfect base to explore wonderful, friendly, beautiful Phuket, and visit Phi Phi Don and Phang Na bay.
