This place really is a "hidden gem off the beaten track". I booked dinner for 25 (family reunion). Staff were friendly and provided great service. We chose to keep to Thai food (when in Rome!) and we were not disappointed, all the flavours were there. Alex was able to offer various menu selections with different price options and was flexible in allowing me to choose other dishes. We opted for a 3 course meals with 4 starters, 4 different types of mains to share centrally and of course scrumptious desserts. We went into the restaurant and was able to request seating arrangements. Food tasted as fabulous as its presentation. The Chefs/kitchen staff did well to cater 25. Cocktails was well made and pleasing to the palate too. The Filipino pianist was fabulous and later they put on great funk/jazz easy listening. Physical environment and atmosphere of the restaurant had a pleasant vibe. It really made our night. Everyone was impressed. They were able to cater for allergy to peanuts, vegetarians and fussy kids.
Thanks for providing a 100% effort.

The café experience was uneven. The seafood salad was very good and the sesame fried tuna was cooked to perfection. My favorite dish was the Duck Confit which was stellar. Less impressive was the Caesar salad which was on the dry side and a very ordinary Sea bass which was supposed to come with a white wine sauce but came to the table dry with tartar sauce on the side. I sampled the Pad Thai Goong, one of my favorite Thai dishes and it was one of the best I’ve eaten, however, the price is 280 baht. At a restaurant I frequent near my home in Thailand, the cost for the same dish is 60 baht. That didn’t stop me from ordering it twice. Be warned red wine by the glass is served chilled, something all too common in Thailand but I was nonetheless surprised when it happened at BYD, as they have a very nicely stocked wine shop so I assumed a higher level of sophistication. The bartender on duty when I sat at the bar had no idea how to make a dry vodka martini. He poured a jigger of dry vermouth. This begs the question, does your regular martini come with sweet vermouth?

We really liked the soups, grilled chicken, live music and atmosphere. If you would like to eat western foods, it is one of the best in Patong, Phuket.

I booked this hotel as it looked fantastic in the photos but felt short changed. The staff are amazing but the room and facilities are not worth the money.
Pros great staff, great free pick up in luxury.
Cons poor food that's overpriced, poor house keeping standards, balconies leak at every drop of rain, no bathroom, it's part of the bedroom, no way to boil water, air conditioner broken, stains on rug from day 1 not cleaned and ashtray never emptied.
